Radiation Planning

Did you take someone with you when you went to your radiation planning appt?  My hospital said the other person would be in the waiting room most of the time while they were marking me, etc....

Just want another person's opinion,

    I went this past Thursday and did not take anyone with me. There is nothing for them to do and once I knew what to expect, thanks to this website (!), it wasn't bad at all.

    I did not.  I agree that there would be nothing for the other person to do but sit in the waiting room.

    I did not take anyone with me, but I was so happy to have my DH to talk to when I got home from the planning.  It was very emotional for me and I needed to talk about it.

    I went alone to the planning appt, but my hubby came with me for my first rad appt. (it's a slightly longer, since they double-check everything prior to administering the first dose) It was nice having my hubby there since I was a little nervous on my first day. The techs let him come in at the beginning of the appointment to check things out. I think it was good because he was able to visualize what I was going through each day, got to meet the techs, say "hi" to my RO again, etc.

    I didn't take anyone with me but I did take pictures of my 'fields' where they drew on me when I got home so I knew what areas to be sure to apply creams/aloe and lotion.  Good luck!  I got 3 tatoos as well, very small dots.  I had a planning session and then went back for a simulation I think then started treatment. I asked my rad onc to show me the planning pictures and describe things to me.  The rad onc techs also showed me pictures of the fields for my boosts since I asked so many questions.
