I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccckkkkkk! This time, the meds worked! I took them about 1.5 hours before my appointment. Then after a half hour, I took another half just to be sure. I knew they were working because I turned my head and it took a while for my eyes to catch up.
Breast center was pretty much on time. They dealt well with my generalized loopiness. I did explain that my onco had given me drugs. They asked what kind but I couldn't tell them squat except that they were working.
The squishing still hurt but not nearly as much as last time. I did not try to smack the tech. Then again maybe it did hurt but I didn't care. Whatever.
Of course, I did end up getting called back in for one more image of the BoobieFormerlyKnownAsGood--the radiologist wants a baseline for the future. And the BadBoobie looked just fine--lots of little sparkly markers but no stinkin' DCIS so yippee.
While they didn't find ANYTHING, I am still directed to get an MRI which I will do before I see the onco next month.
While I was in being scanned DH bought me medicinal dark chocolate which I promptly adminstered to myself when I came out. Then we went to my favorite cupcake store to buy scary expensive cupcakes (but so very very good). While I was there---still under the influence-- I spontaneously bought one of the shop's tshirts....its pink....I never ever buy/wear pink but I couldn't resist. I blame the drugs, that and the fact it has a skull on it, a skull decorated with flowers.....oooo baby!!!!!!!!!!!!
onwards to the MRI!!
Thanks again for the all the supportive comments. Heres to lots of boring mammograms for all!

Congratulations! Your dh is a sweety: The cupcakes and dark chocolate were a nice touch to the day of squishing and glad all news was good and boring. Not a fan of pink shirts if they have anything to do with bc awareness and October, but assume that since yours had a skull on it, it wasn't part of the pink bc bandwagon (Yeah, don't think they'd pick a skull as a logo).
Tonight you'll sleep well, much better than last night.

SOOOO glad to hear your squishing went well!!!!!
I'm up next Thurs and was following along w your story, in terror.
The chemistry idea is a great one, why hadn't that occurred to me already? I have some xanax left from the original fun, and I think some percocet....will have to check the medicine cabinet. 'Cos yeah, I've been on the verge of tears when scarred & radiated boobie gets the treatment. There's this one position in particular where I think I'm gonna die of pain....
I had a dream about my BS last week and decided it was a bad omen.
The center is around the corner from a great Jewish deli. Maybe I'll get a nice pastrami on rye for lunch....
Anyway, so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!

yea! So glad the drugs worked and you didn't get any bad news. That cupcake sounds like the perfect way to 'reward' yourself for being squished!
