A Thorn and Two Roses
Somedays I feel like I want to rant or bitch and other times I have good things to say...so I thought I would start a thread where you say one bad thing about your day (thorn) and two good things (Roses)
Thorn: Today I am once again fatigued, aching, and hating Aromasin more and more.
Rose: I skyped with one of my best friends from elementary school. We've known each other for 45 years. Always lots of laughs and some school girl gossip to catch up on.
Rose: My dogs were so happy to see me come home. Girl's best friends!

I thought I'd be bold and try this again.
Thorn: The garbage man rejected a blue bag of my recyclables..2 yogurt containers weren't rinsed..grrr. He put a big pink sticker on for all to see. I'm pretty sure it was my DH as he's not too diligent with rinsing stuff out.
Rose : My son just completed his thesis for his Masters in Clinical Embriology. He'll graduate in December
Rose: Had lunch with my mother at the senior's lodge where she lives. She gets more and more adorable and sweet as time passes. She bought me a plaque, an old book, and a teacup at their annual sale. Total cost $2.10. She was so delighted with her gift and it warms my heart to see how much the little things in life bring her so much happiness. Her room at the lodge consists of a twin bed, a nightstand, her tv stand, small dresser and small bathroom. She has all her worldy goods displayed on her tv stand. Her coffee mug collection..knicks and all, and her photos of her kids and grandkids. She has a box full of cards and scraps from when we were little. These are all the treasures she has. No fancy china, no mink coats, no expensive furniture, no fine jewellery yet she is one of the most content people I know. She talks about who will get specific coffee mugs when she passes and we have to read all of her cards and review her photo albums a few times a year. There is a great lesson to be learned in her simplicity. I feel so fortunate to have her and so I will make this a dozen roses not just a rose.

Edited for spelling...hope I fixed everything

Hi, pickle,
I can't follow the rules you've set out for us, because my day has been filled with thorns. They're not big, nasty ones -- just lots of little ones that prick and scratch and make me feel discouraged.
I guess I do have two roses, though -- both thanks to your most recent post:
1) I am thankful that I do not have recycling police who paw through the stuff in my blue bin, putting hot pink stickers on contraband such as unrinsed yogurt cups. (I am especially grateful for that, considering all the pink-for-BC awareness etc.)
2) I am grateful to you for telling us about your wonderful mom. She certainly deserves the roses!

Thanks Otter and there really are no rules...well maybe one
Everyone can write as many thorns as they wish but would love to have everyone finish with at least a single rose.
Even though you've had a day of prickles and discouragement, you were sweet enough to finish your post with two beautiful roses so I thank you for that. LOL on the pink stickers.
Wishing you a prickle free day tomorrow.

Edited for SP again. I'm pretty sure my thorn tomorrow will be my uncooperative iPad. I guess if that's the only thorn I have tomorrow I'll be happy with that.

Today so far
Thorn: I forgot to get my effexor refilled 3 days ago so I haven't been taking any. I had a horrible nightmare last night and my head feels like it is being zapped with electric shocks. Anyone else have this problem? And one more thorn! My iPad. Love many features but when it comes to posting on here with it..Arrgh! It is almost impossible for me to edit before posting and if I have to go back and make spelling corrections it's crazy.
Rose: I decided to skip work today. I have been lounging around doing absolutely nothing. Quiet house today and loving every minute of it. Now if only old Bewitched episodes were re-running, it would be a perfect day.
Rose: DH is picking up my prescription so the zapping in my head should cease.
I know these aren't exciting roses but sometimes it's the little things!
Cheers
