RO Recommendations for OC, CA?

Options

I have just completed stage 1 of my UMX/immediate DIEP reconstruction at UCLA. It's now time to see a RO and MO. The drive to LA is brutal for traffic (as anyone who lives here knows) so I'm looking for recommendations for an RO in OC. Anyone used a great RO in this part of the world?

Thanks!

Jenn

I went to Steven Damore. He has offices in Laguna Hills, Long Beach, and Westminster. I think he's in LH and Westminster two days per week and one day in Long Beach. Very pleasant person, unlike the other RO I talked to! Very thorough, too.

He does cyberknife, brachytherapy (i.e. Mammosite), and IORT.

Jenn, you don't say where you are in Orange County, but I can recommend Dr. Brian S. Kim at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach.  Thorough, kind and spent as much time as I needed describing my options and the various risks (and risk reductions) involved.

    Best wishes,

Thanks so much for the responses.

LisaAlissa, I'm in Newport Beach and am wanting to have any treatment that may be required at Hoag.  I'm glad you like Dr. Kim.  I had looked at his profile already.  It's good to have a personal recommendation though.  Can I ask who your medical oncologist is?

    Thanks so much.

My medical oncologist is R. Matthew Carroll (who was in a practice with Neil Barth).  He's still affiliated with Hoag, but he's moved his practice to Fountain Valley.  He was respectful (instead of using my first name, used "Ms." and my last name), informative (the first visit was very educational...he drew charts and illustrations to help me understand what the situation was, what my options were etc.) and careful.  Everything you'd want in a doctor.

I don't know if you want to go to Fountain Valley, and I haven't seen him since he moved there, so can't tell you anything about the office there.

    HTH,

Late response to this post, but wanted to mention that R. Matthew Carroll is my medical oncologist as well.  Incredibly intelligent & up to date on all the latest research.  I see him in his Fountain Valley office (OC Blood & Cancer Care) adjacent to Orange Coast Medical Center.  His staff great, the nurses in the infusion room are so sweet.  He also works out of Pacific Breast Care in Costa Mesa, which is where I was first introduced to him.
