NEWBIES NEWBIES NEWBIES!!!!!
We welcome one & all to our beach -- it certainly doesn't matter to us where you are in your BC journey..... as long as you like the beach, you're welcome here!!!
Continue to hang out & you'll get to know us in time.
Thank heavens Samsue was acting as hostess and Welcome-Wagon chairperson.
Come and go as often as ya like...... soak up our sunshine and friendships. We are a pretty global collection of sand & surf lovers.
I have 'worked' the last four days in a row presenting a series of concerts for fall festivals and a school or two..... glad to put my feet up tomorrow and attempt to get caught up on all things cyber.
My almost 28 year old DD (how is that possible?) and her neighbor and I went to see the movie, "The Help" tonight. Her sweet neighbor is black and from Tennessee and between our ages.... it was a very meaningful night of womanly bonding, conversation, observations and reflections. Sigh.
These are several shots from the summer -- now fleeting images in my heart & memory from our amazing summer in heaven. Hope they bring a sense of calm.

Faith, missed you! How beautiful your place is!
-
Beautiful pictures! Oh, how I miss the summer! My oldest is 23 today. Yikes! I know what you mean, how did that happen? I have to get some of my beach pics on the computer and post. Until then, enjoying all yours.
-
I am slowly getting back in the swing of checking in at all my favorite threads. Since I have missed dozens of pages, I am going to just jump in the water right here.
My eldest turned 27 last Friday. It seems in no time we will be the same age! That's going to be wierd.
-
Faith, great to see those neat photos...come on back here now..Hi Meese..
-
Yes. I feel like I've been gone for so l-o-n-g.......................
Now that school is humming full-tilt I'm back to that schedule.
I'm finally well established over at Pinterest/addiction, so I don't need to be there to quite the exclusivity that I did when I first started 'pinning.'
Here's a couple more.
You ol' timers know that I never tire of building my rock-fun-cairns:
And with some BIG rocks:
Different days, different rocks: LOL!!!!!
How many sail boat pictures can you stand???? I probably have a couple thousand. Seriously. I never tire of clicking them. Most are just in my computer and never even make it to my blog. LOL.
-
those rocks should go to Indi
-
Faith I really loved your sunset shots. Thanks for sharing.
We took off from Mazatlan last night just before the storm started rolling in.Felt bad for new folks comming in on the flight.Hope the Hurricanes give them a break this week.
Our maid left this in our room for the weekend.
-
Took this from our Balcony with my little sony just before she died.
-
Now my husband will really have to surrender one of his Cannon cameras to me permanently.
He treats them like his children.
-
oh, mum, your pictures are wonderful! what you;ll do with one of tiny fishes; cameras!!!the turkey was a wonder!!!............3jays
-
With all the fabulous beach pictures, I feel like I need to get my beach chair, a good book and and wait for the sun to go down.... nice and relaxing~
-
My DH got a nook for his 50th b-day this year instead of an I-pad. The only reason was the Nook is supposed to be easier to read outside in the sun and he wanted to be able to read it on the beach. I still prefer an actual book to hold.
-
My husband captured this Kestrel at the side of the road while we were driving to the airport.

Beautiful pic!

Mum - how does he manage to always catch just the right snap on the camera lens to catch those amazing action shots?
Lisa - love the sea and the rocky coast pictures.
-
some driftwood ...
-
Nice composition Lisa.
-
MUM and Lisa.... fantastic pictures.
Lisa do you collect driftwood? We don't have any here and I always think it would really be a neat arranged in a basket or display. Shells, small one mostly are what we pick up...
Mum, you must have a super-dooper magnifying lens! I want to know too how you get the shots with the birds in motion.... I'm always to late and they have their heads down, wings in the way or GONE...
-
wowowowowowowowow
seriously, have we talked him any closer to the coffee table book???
Mum, he's a genius. Should you tell him???
Lisa, LUV the driftwood. Just saw something very similar over at Pinterest/addiction and pinned it to my collection. Good to see your rendition.

Mum, has he published anything bookwise? I'm assuming this is his vocation and career, yes? I can't believe he's this good just through a hobby, although I guess that's possible! Unbelievable. What a gift
-
I was watching a humming bird in the herb garden today. It flew up for a close up of one of my earings - those wings make quite a noise that close to the ear. I couldn't help thinking about tiny fishy, We know he is a fantastic photographer to get those humming bird pictures, but he must also have a very special camera (maybe several?)
-
No it is not necessary to feed his ego. This is an obsesive hobby with very expensive equipment. But its a healthy hobby with lots of travel benefits which I just love.Everytime I mention creating a book he is not interested. He can spend hours stalking a tree just to get the right shot as a bird lands or takes off.He knows I am happy if I am near an ocean.
We own a seafood whole sale bussiness which is now moreless run by our children and a nephew so he can come and go as he pleases at the office. He spent years establishing this bussiness in two dif cities. But after my DX he changed his priorities about work.So now we travel as much as we can.Now our job is to stay healthy enough reap the benefits of years of hard work.
Here is another shot from our last trip. Western Kingbird.
