Lymphedema class worth it?

There's a 3-hour (two day) lymphedema class offered near me and I'm wondering if it's worth it to go.  It's about preventing lymphedema, not managing it once you have it.

I received a booklet from the hospital on lymphedema and I've read stuff online.  I'm following the instructions I've read and I just wonder how much more I could get from a 3-hour class.

Have any of you taken such a class?  Did they give you more info than you already had?

Etherize - If it were up to me, I would definitely go to the class. There is always room for more education, plus it might just reiterate things that you knew already, but had gotten pushed to the back of your mind. Plus, you may meet some interesting/fun people there, or expand your list of contacts when you have questions about lymphedema. I vote, "yes"!  PS - I went to a two hour class provided by the local hospital on LE - and I have been trained in LE therapy. I still found it interesting and insightful. You never know what new information the person lecturing may have stumbled upon!

Thanks for the feedback, Nordy!  I'll definitely look into it.

Etherize, I took a two hour lymphedema/pt class. Printed info is helpful but it was more helpful to work with the pt and actually practice exercises and lymph drainage massage. BTW, my "class" had only one other person beside me so it was highly personalized. Caryn

Thank you, Caryn -- I think I better take it, now that I'm going to have even more nodes removed.
