thanks Patty - that is an admirable attitude to have, but not sure it's me. I can do it RIGHT, just need the opportunity. Doing it wrong, or just doing whatever is hard.

Good port news Jenn. Gotta love those drugs - make us say all kinds of things!

The Saints won!!!!!  I'm so excited......our track record against the Bears isn't too good.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and your teams won, unless you're a Bears fan.

Today is a much better day than I've had in sometime.  I'm wondering if the chemo is the cause of so much of my pain (in addition to my spine, rib & sternum mets). I got my hair cut and colored today and actually took off some length.   It was getting a little past my shoulders, but I wanted a style other than "growing" it.  I like it, but we'll see what happens when I fix it myself in a few days.  The color is a little darker for the fall/winter weather.  It may have a little too much red in some of the highlights, but again, I'll see what happens in a few days.

So has anyone seen any good movies?  I haven't been, but am itching to go to the movies.

Sounds so pretty Jenn.  LOL on "a style other than growing it" -- I think that's my hairstyle too!  I actually just trimmed my bangs myself (did a so-so job) because the hair was hanging in my eyes and I couldn't stand it and don't have time to see the stylist.  I'm hoping I can get there in October.  Just busy doing a lot of running around the next few weeks (culminating with the Ta Ta Vegas thing at end of the month).

Re: good movies -- we saw Crazy Stupid Love over this past weekend and LOVED it!  Two thumbs up :)  Very funny and also sort of sweet and touching by the end.  (My idea of a perfect movie).

So glad you are feeling better.  Maybe you're getting your chemo legs :)

Jenn - I'm so impressed that your hair is shoulder length!  I've been cutting mine all along so it is still short...not "chemo head" short, but shorter than I used to wear it.  I actually like it short.  Chemo-bonus!   Wish I could help on the movies but the last one I saw was Social Network...on DVD.

TA TA reunion...can't believe it is almost here!

So jealous.........have a drink for me.  If you don't drink have an extra sweet treat for me.

My friend's friend Keith held a blood drive on my behalf this weekend.  He owns a monogram store and had it in front of his shop.  He organized for the Voo Doo Dolls and car (our arena football team) to be out there as well as a bunch of "Cure Dat" monogrammed hats, visors, hand towels, pens and Voo Doo monogrammed stuff too. He also had free pizza from a well known place and wedding cake from another well known place - free to eveyone giving blood, or anyone that showed up and hung out really. Oh.......and ice chests filled with water, soft drinks and gatorade along with a basket of chips, pretzels and candies.  It was a huge event.  I know Keith from being at my friends house for various events, but not more than a quick hello.  In all honesty I wouldn't have known his face had I run into him on the street.  I was just so touched that here is someone I really don't know spending money and time for me.  He really worked hard and went out of his way to make the event very nice.  I thanked him in person multiple times on Saturday, but I am also planning on sending him a personal handwritten note too.  It just goes to show that there are so many generous, kind, giving people out in the world.

Jenn - that was so nice of him.

We will certainly have a drink in your honor at the weekend and will report back on things - or at least some of what went on!!

Jenn -- for sure!  We will have a drink and think of you and yeah what Gill said about reporting back :)

And wow what a great event that Keith arranged in your honor!  I can only imagine how touched I would be if someone did that for me.

I have been (still am) in the hospital since Tuesday for pain mgmt.  The area is from my spine and wraps around my my ribs to he front. I've been on a continuous pump, which helps and tonight they they are going to start my new oral pain mgmt in hopes that the new meds/strength works so that I can go home in the next day or so.

Is this the week y'all go to Las Vegas?  Still jealous........

I am home.  The dr changed the dosage of my long acting meds and it has helped. He also wants to talk to an orthopedic to discuss whether or not I am a candidate for a nerve block or should I visit with a neurologist.  I'll let you know once something is decided.

Jenn so glad you are home. Yes this was the Vegas weekend. I am at the airport waiting to go home. It was wonderful to meet Patty and Lilah in person. Someone took a picture of the three of us so perhaps that will get posted sometime. We drank a toast to you when we first met up and you were in our thoughts often.

Jenn -- so sorry to hear that you were in the hospital this weekend.  Patty, Gill and I did indeed drink a toast to you, so though we didn't know you were in the hospital you were most certainly in our thoughts!

Gill -- OMG I have no idea who took our picture!  In retrospect, I wish it had been on my camera (phone) or one of yours... I do hope we track it down!  At some point Packergirl will set up a link to a private photo site for everyone to upload photos to... and she will no doubt put it on the Ta Ta Sisterhood Facebook page... so let's keep checking there.  We must track that photo down!

It was absolutely wonderful to meet both Gill and Patty in person!  Jenn -- you must get better and join us next year!

Gill and Patty -- there is a link on the Facebook page to a photo site (you have to make a user name and password).  Gill I know you are in the Facebook group... Patty, are you?  If not... PM Estepp (aka Laura) and ask her what to do (she is the keeper of that group).  Journey has already posted some photos!

Also -- did you guys poop out after the Elton John concert? (And how was it?)  I was sorry not to see you at the final "goodbye" thing on Sunday night.

It sounds like y'all had a great time.  Besides Elton John, what other shows did you see?  Did any of you try your hand at gambling either with cards, dice or slots?  Thank you for having a drink for me - much appreciated.

I will add the Vegas trip to my list of reasons to get better.  I am so tired of the hospital, doctors, nurses, needle sticks, and hospital food.  Hospital food has got to be the absolute worst!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and if you're into football may your college and pro teams win, unless they're playing our teams, LSU and Saints.

I did gamble some -- it's one of my favorite pastimes LOL.  And I went to see a Cirque du Soleil show called The Beatles: Love... which was fantastic (I went the night of the Elton John concert).

    How are you doing Jenn?

    Go Saints! :)

Oh Jenn, btw, I saw two movies today: Real Steel -- really loved it (a feel good movie) -- and Ides of March -- which was well acted and suspenseful, though I thought the ending was not totally satisfying (but George Clooney and Ryan Gosling are in it... so need I say more?)

Lilah - I love Elton John, but I think I would have gone to see the Cirque du Soleil show too.  I love the shows they put on, although it has been a while since I've been to one.  I was wondering about Real Steel, well more like mixed emotions.  I may give it a try.  Ides of March doesn't look like my kind of movie, but like you said it does have George Clooney and Ryan Gosling.  I haven't been to the show in so long.  I really have a lot of catching up to do.    Oh wait, I did go see one with my sister and for the life of me can't remember.  She loved it, I hated it.  What was it??? It was well acted, but a serious movie and not my type.  Oh well, when it comes to mind I'll try to remember to let you know.

I'm doing okay, but still not used to being a full time cancer patient.  It really is a struggle learning to live with constant doctor appts, aches and pains and nothing really to talk about it seems.  But......I'm learning, not complaining.   I like to say every day that I wake up is a good day.  Heard it from an elderly lady at the hospital and told her I was going to borrow it.  Thanks for asking.

Well, the Saints barely won and had me and DH on the edge of our seats.  I love/hate those kind of games.  Hope everyone had a great weekend.

You are doing great Jenn.  I guess the key to getting through all the appts and the pain is to remember to do things you love to do too.  Real Steel is just very sweet and sort of thrilling.  Not sure I would recommend Ides of March.

The Cirque show was beautiful.  More dance based than other shows of theirs, but still plenty of acrobatics, and all to the music of the Beatles.  Nothing wrong with that!

Penny, so glad to hear that your mom is NED.  Celebrate, enjoy and have fun.

Lilah - remembered the name of the movie I mentioned yesterday just as I sat to type a response.  It was "The Debt" w/Helen Mirren.

Gill - I think it's me, I'm not a big drama, serious movie person.  Some movies, but very few.  My sister loved The Debt too.  She couldn't understand why I didn't like it.  It was very well acted.
