RE: F----g scared right now
I'm right now shitting on myself. As I posted in the RRE: Is this lung mets?. After an initial chest infection with a running nose, cough and fever. I had a course of antibiotics. The fever remitted but the cough is still there although drier. My GP sent me for an X_Ray that was normal but she is concerned I may have lung mets in the early stages and they won't show on the X-Ray, so she has sent me for an CT scan at Royal Marsdem. I am so friking out, so scared, shuttered, I don't know what the hell can I say.
The point is that this just brings up the memories of my bc dx in 2006, you know the usual probably is nothing to worry about but just to be in the safe side and ..... Bingo IDC grade 2!!!!. Also de fact that two of the GPs I've seen lately asked me about my latest follow up, liking my symptoms to a possible recurrence ..... Shit, shit shit!!!

Wild,
So sorry you have to go through this stress. I had a similar thing happen back in the spring, and was totally freaked out. The doctors have to be careful with us, but I don't think they get how much stress it causes at times. Hoping your results come back benign, and they get the results to you quickly, so you don't have to worry for longer than necessary.

Of course you are freaked out ... this is scary stuff. Do try to keep in mind though that you did have a chest infection. I can tell you that many of my friends who have had those things have complained about a cough that hangs on for months. And nobody sends them for any further tests. So your symptoms are not that much out of the norm I don't think. But ... when you have a history of breast cancer the doctors jump all over such things and send us for scans because they don't want to risk missing anything.
This all just sucks ... not much you can do except just hang in there and try not to jump to the worst conclusions. The odds are in your favor that this is not lung mets but just lingering effects from your infection.
Wishing you a quick scan and benign results (((hugs)))

Thinking of you....but you did just have a cold. I am having the same symtoms but have not taken any anitbiotics. I do have a stuffed up nose still so I believe it is STILL a cold and possibly allergies but I am not at all happy about this persistant dry cough. I am giving it to the end of the month to clear up. I ask myself, have I had this before and the answer is yes....Wouldn't it be nice to just have a cold without worry The fact that I finished Herceptin a month ago is not helping my worry, nor is the all of a sudden pain in my right hip. This is a real pain isn't it?
