Hi again - had to sign off because my beeper went off.  Nice to have internet in the reception room here.  I JUST FINISHED MY 25 REGULARS AND MOVE TO BOOST TOMORROW!  Pardon my shouting from the rooftop!  Just had a little sob on my RO's shoulder.  She's giving me lidocaine because of the really sore spot under my arm, which is apparently STILL in the boost field.  Oh joy.  And she even gave me a Rx for liquid morphine - wasn't expecting that!  Still can't swallow pills, though, and she thought it might make me sleep better .  (Ya think???)  Anyway, that's just in case nights are like last night.  Thank heavens I have a good book because I read most of the night.  I agree - ice is the best!  Thanks for the peroxide idea - will try that, too.  Congrats to SARAH and everyone who is finishing soon.  I so love hearing that people are getting better afterward.  What a big help that is!  Love to you all!  Jeana

    Thanks Jeana!

Don't know about you, but morphine gives me a terrible headache, so use it sparingly. Not sure which is worse, the initial pain or the post-morphine headache. LOL!

I liked Naproxin 600 for pain. No after headache or anything.

Jenna-Here is what I say to myself when I am down. "Chin up, chest out, march forward"

Then, I start thinking about what I want next in my life. It helps a lot.

    Congrats Jeana. You're almost there!

I had #27 today. One more full and then 7 boosts to go. Today, for the first time, they gave me a cream...Silvadene cream. The nurse applied it after the treatment and gave me a small jar to take home. Has anyone else used this cream?

Maybe it's the weight of daily treatment being off my shoulders! LOL!

Sarah - FANTASTIC!  It's been a long year, hasn't it?  Time to celebrate for sure - even if it's with a long nap!

For me - Lidocaine mixed with anything is now my best friend!  I've had some bleeding, too, as some parts are finally just breaking down.  I started boosts yesterday and finish next Monday.  My only disappointment is that the boost overlaps the most painful spot.  So Lidocaine and ice are just the ticket.  My mood is better, though, as I see the finish line ahead!

Good luck to all of you.  Are some people having rough times?  Tell us about it.  It helps!

    Love to all, Jeana

Hi Bb226, I guess Santa is giving me implants and lifts early for Xmas. The best part is that medicare is paying for it.Normally I am a small B cup, and after the surgery I will be a C.

Today I started using the saranwrap technique - after putting all my creams and lidocaine on, I cover with saranwrap so my tank top doesn't have any chance of rubbing it.  That helps!  Other than that, I'm so close to done I almost feel like it's over already!  Not much action on the board this week - just want to send love and perseverence and confidence to everybody.  Fantastic news, Kate!  Sarah - what are you doing with your time now?  Thanks everybody for your positive thoughts!  And for your complaints and remedies.  We can do this!!!

Jeana: I have not stopped running long enough to know what to do with myself! LOL! Yesterday I went to the gym and then had PT for the lymphedema. Today I had a dentist appt to have these 2 cavities filled and then had to run to the grocery store. Tomorrow it is gym, dr appt and PT again. I think I can stay home ALL DAY next Tuesday. LOL!

Sarah how often do you go for PT for LE?  I have an appt on Nov. 8th for LE in my leg. Just curious how many times a week you go at first? Jeana we think alike. LOL I used saran wrap a little too. Until it became so itchy.  It will soon be a memory for you both....  Embarassed     BTW My US  did not show an enlarged Thyroid, but my bloodwork came back 1.036. It should be in the 3.000 to 5.000 range.  I think RADS must have effected me,  or aggravated it.  Anyone else having a problem? Also anemic and have a vitamin D deficiency (40). Something really messed me up. LOL  I average an appt with someone 3 times a week. It is getting old...

    Katfinn,

Hi, first of all nice to meet you sorry it had to be here but this is the best place to be going through all that we have, the people on here is great and I love them all.

I have not been on in a while just trying to get back to life,  I finished my last Rads Sept 30 and just started ot feel little bumps on my ams also I was wondering what it was all about so that is why I got on tonight also having fatigue and tightness in my legs.  My hair is growing back to and I am finding many gray, that will change, lol...  It was nice not having to shave my legs I was getting use to it, and I am only getting hair in my right armpit, not the left where I had 6 nodes removed.

Good luck keep me posted on the bumps..

    Lots of hugs  Pam

#30 today, 5 boosts to go. It's a pretty rough road, but at least I'm starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for all your information and inspiration ladies.

Ooh, Merilee - that's GOOD ONE!

So the weirdest thing has happened.  I've always been scheduled for 25 and 5 boosts from the beginning.  Boosts in the armpit were really the only part I was committed to, so I was glad to get there on Tuesday!  Last week my RO was pushing for 2 additional boosts.  And yesterday I came in and they said I'd be done today after #4!  What?  The RO is out on holiday.  One resident said oh, they decided to reduce it, but really I should be getting MORE.  Another resident called me and said they had wanted to give me a combined dose of 60 Gray, and after today I would be at 62, so doing more would be dangerous.  So now I don't know if a mistake was made and they overdid the whole breast, which I don't even think I needed as almost all the cancer was in the armpit, and so now they can't do the adequate amount in the armpit.  WTF!?  So now I'm in the weird position of thinking I didn't get enough in the armpit, when really I'd rather be in celebration mode.  All the techs and receptionist were all Yay - Congratulations!  And I'm in limbo.  I don't want to have gone through ALL THIS and still not get the dosage I was looking for in the armpit.

Blah blah blah!  So I'm DONE!?  Or not?  At least this is the weekend TGIF, and I have Merilee's picture to think about!  We walk through this trip alone, don't we, in a certain sense.  But it's been amazing to have all of you with me.

lrw - re thyroid & Vit D.  Both are really really important.  Look into Iodine and its relation to the body scavenging cancer cells better.  I've been taking Lugol's solution - a dropper full of 2% (I think) daily in a drink.  And the D - we need to take 10,000 IU per day - lesser dosages don't get it up in the right range for a long time.  And it's crucial to fight and prevent cancer.

Ceez - one more week!!!  It will go fast I bet.  Katfin - one doc mentioned to me that once the treatments are over and the pain is under control, some of us realize how truly tired we are.  Remember we've been pumping out adrenaline to help us get through this thing.  Water and exercise and rest is on the agenda for us all I think!

    Love to all, Jeana

CONGRADULATIONS JEANA!!!    Or NOT??? hehe I hope your finished. Either way treat yourself special and try and rest up... You can finally began to heal...    Thanks for the tip trying to find it now. You would think they would have a presciption for a higher dose of the vitimins you need. Since BC requires you to take more.  So much to learn.  Ceez just 5 more? It will go by fast now.... Hang in there. Your almost done. Hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend. Thinking of you all!!!

Thank you so much for the encouragement Jeana and Irw!

I love all the suggestions for products like creams and deodorants on this discussion group. I'll bet that amazon.com loves it too because they sure are getting lots of money off me as I try all the new ideas. Lol.
