my hand
Hi Everyone, My hand and arm has been good since I had cellulitis except for 3 finger that won't straighten out. I know I am not having surgery or cortisone when I see the plastic surgeon. Waiting for a 24 hours call if someone cancels or next Spring. It is too much of a risk for me. Also I have no pain and I can grip with it.....just can't pick up tiny things. I notice femara can cause trigger fingers and I have 11months and 21 days to go. Maybe it is a combination of cellulitis and femara.
I got what was suppose to be a custom sleeve and glove from mediven. They sent me a glove at $250 and a sleeve and glove attached for $350. It felt so good and for a day my hand was good. The next day my hand swelled a lot as i need padding in my glove to keep my swelling down. Trying different things but they all mess up when i put it on. Wrapping untill it gets down again.Thinking I may have to just use it as a glove. I did cut a old sleeve and it stayed good but i will have to see.
Have a lot to be thankful for....Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Jinky, I am so sorry you are dealing with this. It sounds like your new garments are causing a problem for you - can you get them reworked?
I hope kira chimes in here - she's the expert on hand swelling!

Jinky, this is so frustrating!
You're always having to invent your own solutions to your hand problems. I remember when your hand swelling first started, after scrubbing the kitchen floor -- who knew a clean floor could be so stupid dangerous?!
Soooooo glad you're not having pain in your hand anymore, anyway. Now to find a way to use a glove without causing more grief....
Wish I could just drop by, Jinky -- I'd love to sit down over tea with you. Well, and brownies of course.
Gentle hugs,

Hi Suzybelle, My hand is good now and thank you so much. The wrapping did it . yeah!!!!! Finally got padding into my sleeve/glove that doesn't munch up. Things are looking up..bc hugs jinky

Jinky, by "padding," do you mean the Mobiderm? I'm curious how that's working for you.
Thanks,
Binney -
no, I couldn't get that down the sleeve to the glove as it is all in one....I still like the Mobiderm in my glove only. I like it but the Komprex foam from Bandages Plus is just as good. My hand has been really good but not wearing any padding for 2 days in the combo sleeve/glove ( all in one) made it flare up but I now have it under control by wrapping...this is why it is soooooooooo important to learn how to wrap....it does not dare not to listen to me lol. Wish we could have tea together. No chocolate though lol. bc hugs jinky
wear this at night or in the daytime if needed.

Jinky, so glad the hand is down! Hurrah!!!!

The lymphedema I have is mostly in my hand. I took the wrap off today to do radiation and the swelling seemed to be all gone from my hand, although still a little in my knuckles. Seemed to be a little swelling in my arm too, but not much. I am shocked because there was really a lot on Friday. Will see what the pt thinks tomorrow. Hoping I can get measured and switch to a sleeve instead of wrapping for 24 hours a day.

Wow! You and DH are a team! Brava, and congrats on the great reduction! Kinda magical, isn't it?
Cheering for you!

Jinky--sure hope that things stay under control.
Kay1963-Here's hoping that you can get a glove and sleeve soon.
