will I need chemo

Hi, Just dx with stage 2 grade 2 with positive sentinel node.  Initially thought i had dcis, than stage 1, but now with the positive node and stage 2 wondering if the MO that I am meeting with on Tuesday will say I need chemo.  I also did not have clear margins so will need a re-excision.  BS says I may not need a total nodal axillary dissection because of new clinical study that shows no change in survival or recurrence.  Anyone else having to make that decision?  thanks!

    If you review the treatment guidelines on the NCCN website you will see what the standard treatment is for your situation.  I was Stage 1 and had to decide on chemo because of my pathology and age...I had to choose chemo as I have a young son and didn't want to risk it.  It is a hard decsion.  Did they do the oncotype test?  I am not sure if they do it on node positive women....I think that some doctors do.  Ask about that test as it tells you the lkelyhood of your tumor returning in the next 10 years.  It may be helpful in making a decision if the test is applicable to your situation.  I am sorry about your diagnosis.  Best of luck!

    Thanks for the reply!  I checked the website it had alot of good information.  looks like I probably will- we will see after MO appt. tomorrow.  I don't know if they did the oncotype test I will as them.  Thanks again for the good onfo!
