love they loosy goosy post, I know I say my mom things all the time, my kids have heard it but not from me.  DQ is an excellent idea....need to get a bumper also.....hands and feet are still peeling and think I have the flu yet again, but have things to do and it is almost homecoming weekend for Andrew and my son's team (he coaches in Folcroft where I live)  so I will be busy and there is a flea market that I am supposed to be selling at on Sunday so can't be sick.

Michael actually went to school today, can't believe it, and think they have off on Monday, Columbus Day, do your kids have off?

    HAVE A WONDERFUL THURSDAY!!!

Happy Birthday, Deb!!!    Happy Anniversary, Linda!!!!

Hope you feel better for all your activities, Sandy!!!!

My kids have tomorrow and Monday off.  They tacked a day onto the weekend and made Friday a teacher professional day, I think.  I wish I could have done something with my kids or let them have friends over, but FIL called asking me to take them on errands...  He wanted to go today, but DD had a dr appt.  Really wish they didn't have to go tomorrow...  Kids have band competition Saturday all day 9am-~11pm.  Then parade Sunday - then SIL's surprise 40th b-day party Monday.  DD is having friends over tonight to watch Wrath of Khan.  Their band show has music from a bunch of Sci-Fi  movies and shows - including Wrath of Khan.  (Also Battlestar Galactica, and Close Encounters and others.)  So she wanted them to watch it.  She had it tonight rather than another night because tonight was the only night one of the boys could come - and he didn't even come.  Figures.

    Hope you're feeling better, Sandy.

Busy afternoon today running errands with in-laws.

Hope everyone enjoys the warmer weather this weekend (and that it isn't too hot!)

Have fun at soccer!  It is much nicer when it's warm (as long as it's not too hot for them).  DD used to play - now instead of freezing at soccer games late in the season, I sit at band competitions.  At least I don't have to go camping in the winter with DS!  Brrrr.  (Though they usually sleep in a cabin in Jan and Feb unless they are doing a polar bear thing - sleeping in a tent when it's below freezing to earn a patch.)  I just can't take the cold.

Bought a special sock to wear while sleeping that pulls the toes up to keep the plantar fasciia stretched.  Increased my mileage so thought I should try to keep my foot stretched.  Now my foot hurts.  Don't know whether I overdid it with the sock or the "running."  Duh.

LOL, Chris, foreplay, I thought you were talking about your socks. LOL!!  I have heard about the socks, my DH has PF.  Please let me know if it works.

Ha ha - was talking about Hogan's Heroes.

I think it will take a while for me to see if the sock works.  They are kind of expensive so I bought only one.  My left foot is the one that was threatening to hurt (and now does because I'm a loser).  I figured if I could stretch out my left foot so it stopped threatening to hurt (twinges), I could eventually just alternate feet to keep them stretched so they wouldn't get injured.  Last October I had a small swollen spot that hurt a lot to the touch - that's when I stopped running for the winter.  Was trying to avoid doing that again.  Sucks getting old.  Will have to make sure I don't let the sock flex my foot very much tonight.  Still want to keep it stretched.  Hopefully it won't hurt tomorrow if I get out for a "run."  Assuming it doesn't get too warm too early.  The sun kills me.

Christct.................I had the same foot problem you had..........a Dr. said surgery, and I said "no way"..........anyway, I went to another Dr. and he told me of an exercise to do before even considering any other treatment...............I had it bad...both heels.........could barely walk when I first stood up, and then could not walk for very long.

First thing he told me to get was something called "Tully's Heel Pads"....try to google it, you might find them...............also they kind of go by your weight, but you will see that when you look.

Second:...He gave me an exercise to do...........Google this too, you might find a video of how to do it, but here goes.................

Place you hands on a wall......step back, till your arms are straight...........keep your feet together......now lean forward going toward the wall, until your forearm is touching the wall, and your "nose"...............you must do this, while keeping your heels hard to the floor at all times...........do not let them come off the ground........you will feel a strong stretch at the back of your heel when you do this..............do it for 10 reps, 3 times a day.

Mine went away completely after a few weeks, and never came back.

They wanted to put cortisone injections in my heels, surgery, and I said "no thanks".........this truely worked.......I have told others about it, and they tried it, and did great.......also don't forget the Tully Heel Pads........they are rubber,  good luck

Tiny little football players - sounds so cute!  Hope those SE's go away soon!  I think you need more DQ therapy.

Thanks for the info, Ducky - I bought something that sounds similar several yrs ago when I first had this problem in the other foot.  I'll have to see if it does the same thing.  That time, the pain was in that one spot where the fascia attaches to the heel- the heel thing I bought had a ridge that pressed up on that spot to keep it stretched it out.  I'll try the exercise too.  I had been just stretching my foot a little bit from time to time, but I knew that wasn't enough - that's why I bought the sock.  Did the elliptical today instead of running - gave my arches (and everything else) a break today.  Cortisone shots in the heels - sounds excruciating.  I had a plantar wart once - there was a general surgeon that ran a clinic where I worked (those were the days) so I went to him. Since he was a surgeon - of course he wanted to cut rather than use acid, etc.  I thought I would die when they put the novocaine in my foot.  Lots of nerves in the feet.

I am here - been packing and getting ready for move all day.  So tired.  Decided BC and potential lymphoma risk comes in handy when it comes to hauling stuff.  But then DH's torn meniscus really kicked up and I am feeling bad for him.  Are we too old?  Maybe I should have hired some folks?  He meets with surgeon on Monday.  Thank goodness we rented stair free home for his post surgery.

Sounds like a fun party in your 'hood, Linda?

Sheila?  Are you doing a doubleheader?
