Anyone else having issues with thinning hair?

I am wondering if it will ever feel thicker again.  I had no Chemo so that is not it.

I had my BMX on May 27th and every since then my hair seems to have gotten thinner, after I get out of the shower there is quite a bit of hair, I just cannot imagine it growing back as fast as I am losing it.  My husband doesnt notice it but when I put it in a pony tail it is really noticable to me.

I am on lots of Antioxidants, vitamins, and regularly exercise.  I am not sure what to do at this point.

Has anyone else had this and if so, what did you do?  Will it stop?

ps I have started Rogaine a couple of months ago also, I have not noticed a difference yet.

It isnt falling out in clumps but there is definately lots of hair in the drain ( I have long hair so maybe it looks like more too)  It still freaks me out though.

Apple do you think it is from just the trauma of the surgery to the body?

Surgery can cause hair loss but is should return. YOu might also get your thyroid checked.

I just got an order for one today, I will get it done soon.  I am curious, hoping that is not it for heavens sake!  This is not my year

My hair thinned considerably following surgery when I was 40 yrs old. It was a hysterectomy but not oophorectomy so not hormonally influenced. I mentioned it to my doctor and he pooh-poohed any association with the surgery but a year or so later I read that general anesthesia often caused hair loss. Also extreme stress causes hair loss, usually peaking a few months after the peak stress period. I can't think of anything in my life that has been more stressful than breast cancer!

Arimidex caused a good bit of thinning of my hair but it doesn't sound like you are on an AI so that's not the problem. I hope as a few more months go by things settle down for you and you find your hair thickens up. We all go through so much with this disease. And losing hair just adds insult to injury.

    Thank you :)

I freaked when I was going to have to do chemo because frankly I would have rather lost my breasts than my hair!  I didnt have to do chemo so was thrilled.

Does anyone have any ideas on supplements that they take for hair loss?

I hope it does not continue, it is really frustrating
