Amoena Essential vs. Essential Light?

Options

I haven't needed to buy new forms for a while. Now I need a less expensive traditional form, to help extend the lives of the more expensive ones.  I have only had the Tria(normal weight Size 2), but am wondering if I would like the "Light" forms and if they would give less wear to the bra straps? Or would the weight difference really not be that noticeable in my small size?  Or would a light form in a small size, "ride up"?

    Hi ddd,

Nice to see you on the boards! As I'm sure you're aware, Amoena has renamed all its forms and created a number of new ones. Even in the Essential line there are quite a few choices, including lighweight forms.

With such a small size as 2, I wouldn't think the difference would be very noticeable, but honestly, it would probably be worth going to a mastectomy shop or a Nordstrom (which carries Amoena forms) and trying both traditional weight and lightweight forms. If you've noticed that your size 2 in traditional weight wears on your bra straps, maybe you'd really like the lighter form better.

I doubt that a light silicone form would cause your bra to ride up. I wear a lightweight size 3 Amoena form and have no problem whatsoever with my bra riding up. In fact, I can even wear a weighted Amoena foam form (style 132) without a problem. But everybody's different. If there's a convenient place to try a few different forms on, it really might be worth the trip.

Or, you could order both the regular and lightweight online and see whether you like one better than the other. I just noticed that MetroMedicalOnline is having an overstock sale on the Amoena Natura. That might be of interest to you. They also list the Amoena Essential at a good price. Other online retailers may offer similar good prices. Worth checking out.

Hi Barbara, thanks for writing!  I'm not on the boards very often anymore.

I was in fact, looking at the MetroMedical site.  I saw the Essential 2S at $50 less than the Essential Light.  I am interested in trying a lighter form, but not at $100 more for the pair, unless I was sure it would make a huge difference.  I do not have insurance coverage.

Thank you for your help.  I am leaning toward cheaper, pending more feedback from others. :)
