am I late for Pau Hana? Just got my extension cords run into my bedroom so that I have light and alarm clock in my room.
sorry that my earlier post was written without fully reading all the updates. I missed alot of what you gals said but have read the prior page. so much to say to all of you but keep forgetting or being ADD..
a welcome to newcomer Lynie Lou lol. I missed that you changed your name and was going to welcome you but then read that you are Sheryl. took awhile to comprehend. i blame it on likker.
Gail,, you are on a roll today (beats being on a pita, aye). Loved your pics and your version of the acrynmns here. funny thing, I used to think DH meant dear honey until I found the list of abbreaviations on the newcomer page (I think it is on our home pages).I then decided that it means d-ck head hehe.
Kathy, I have missed you as we usually chat everyday. I went into BCO about five times today in trying to catch up but got paranoid as there are so many pics (never stop the pics) then only skim the pages. Shame on me!
Lori, I bet you will be fit to be tied when I show up at your Shady Lady.
NM, I miss you, did I miss a post today? I hope all is well.
Scuuuuuuba, i keep forgetting to verify the pt appointment which I show next monday, yes. I need to put into action what Chrissy told me regarding organization. Speaking of, me needs to visit her and see what she is doing, I think in Texas? i know she is having fun, fo show.
Stanzie, did I miss you too?
A special shout out to Beans. Beanglish pops out at me when I am skimming.
I somehow feel guilty missing so much but cannot say sorry again as it is not allowed. I made that rule so I get the privedge of breaking it hehehe. really though, the rules can be broken anytime with permission from one of the tenders and they tell me okay ebery tyme I ask. That is my real secret, don't tell anyone on the board of directors at the HTL other than Lori (she can be trusted). Ok me getting silly and prolly only cracking me damn self up so .....
To you girls I am not mentioning, know that I pray for each of you, by name when I go to church. I am too fried to think of all your names to pray now so just pray for all my bwest fwends and send special prayers to the girls who need extra love. Karen, Kymn, Gail, Kristy, Wahine (for the theifs), Claire, since she could not ride 80 miles ~jj on that one), Lynnie Lou Lou Sheryl (no offense, also sorry I accused you of being dwunk and sawrry you had such a bad sat-turd-dey. I am forgetting the name of my other new bwest fwend and have to roll a page back to find but me must go. The fire needs tended to. DH needs attention too (what's new there) and I need to visit Chrissy B.
I'd like to make a spreadsheet or template for all of you girls. But it wold take me weeks. Lori?? if you do that, I will buy you dwinks for a year!
Drink up now girls, have a beautiful night and know I have missed you. I will be back out of work in just a few weeks, yippy x .05. Sorry for hogfacing the page.
-
ps....LL, just saw you are having trouble copy and pasting. if you run Mozilla Firefox, it does not work, must be internet explorer. And if in an email, will not work, must be from the internet. If you do not get the answer, PM me and I will make it a point to instruct you as the other girls did with me (ever so patiently). Peace!
-
DorK quick check in while I sit with my nearing pads doing PT, Chrissy was just in TX. She signed the traveling pants. (for none not following Chrissy, Kherson thread begins with "the journey has begun". Think she is in Colorado next?
Anyways, wonderful day to all! Cheers. -
Morning all! Well, I have successfully pulled up a profile picture! lol. DH makes homemade wine, and my brother created this wine lable in my honor and entered it in the State fair, got 1st place! Also a first in champagne, and a second and third, dont remember which. I just drink it, lol. Going to try to add some more pics using photo bucket.
-
Kewl avatar, Mrs_V! Me tinks we shud add dis wine to da HTL bar. Sounds good, and me specially luvs da bubbly. Seriously though, that is really awesome that he won!
DorK, How long till the wall will be finished and you can have your BR back to normal? Hope this week won't be too hard on you, try to take it easy. Really hard going back to FT. Yeah, like Scuby told ya, Chrissy signed the pants, AND they posted a picture....really touching.
Beans, Come back, come back wherever you are! Know you are soooo bizzy, but we miss you!
Gail, You were so funny last night! It is neat when some of us are in the lounge and *almost* talk in real time.
I think we have all just been exhausted either emotionally (hurting), or physically, but gosh darn it girlz we NEED a big blowout party!!!! I am bizzy tonight and tomorrow night, but maybe we can "start" thinking about having it over the weekend??? OH, and a little birdie told me it is someone specials DD that is having a b'day this weekend....will clue you in later. And my g'dau's bday is Sat., but of course she is toooooo young to participate!!! Partay! Partay! Partay!!!!!!!!
Partay Hearty!

Okay, okay, I need to spill da beans (no, NOT you Beans! LOL), and let you know there is a very special birthday on Friday, and we all should get in the HTL PARTAY BUS and help her celebrate in HTL style! Here is an excerpt from the latest PM Junie's DD (Kerry) sent me.......
Please let the ladies know everyone of you held a special place in her heart. I will post when I feel up to it. Also feel free to let them know I check in but just not up to posting.
I have a favor to ask. Could you please start up the party bus for this Friday Oct. 7th it's my 42nd bday and have the ladies have a bday drink with/for me in honor of my mom.(have always talked to my mom and had a drink together to celebrate). Missing her so very very much right now.
I know we will all rally round and help Kerry celebrate her birthday....this will be hard as it is her first bday since losing her mom. I am sure we will shed more tears also, since Junie is not with us. I think Kerry has lots of "surrogate moms" and "surrogate sistas" here at the HTL!!!!
Hugs and Beer Mugs,
Raquelle (Kathy)
-
Morning loungettes! ... can't blame my behavior on meds ... unless tamoxifen make you crazy? ... probly not.
DorK - sometimes "dh" is lower case and now we all know what that means! LOL
Kathy - Yeah, I think we should have a drink for Kerry/Junie in realtime... might take some coordination since we are in different time zones but maybe we could all get on the bus at the same time.
-
DorK, yes the Miller Lite and foil is set up in the Shady Lady. And I give you and all the other gals here lifetime VIP passes! As you are ALL VIP's! So sorry to hear the news of your friend, sending out prayers to her and her family.....and you too DorK. But you still crack me up girl, looks like I see a bribe....to buy me drinks for a year? HA.....Pants and Jocks will just give them to me! And there is no way you could just pop in at The Shady Lady, you would NEVER find me!
But I will give you directions when you get here.Gail, so so sorry about the car.
ScubZ, thank you. Yes we have LOTS of space, 80 acres. MrsV, it's more of a side yard.
Sheryl and MrsV, I do take the 20 mg of Melatonin, but not every night. Sometimes, I just take 1 or 2 of the Wal Mart brand of a night time pain reliever, and I have valium.
MrsV, just ask if you are not sure what means what.....one of our favs (from Junie) is DILLIGAF! Can ya figure that one out? Love your wine label. NM makes vino too.
Oooo,, I remembered the other movie we saw.....Contagion (sp)
Hey Kerry.....you sure have a special mom and of course we will toast with you on your birthday. We talk about your mom quite a bit actually and doubt it will ever stop! She was loved my many and missed by all of us.
Here is the pic again K
Also, for the new gals....here is our HTL video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA1oe_ER96s
-
Thank you, Lori~! Just love that memorial....sooooo purrfect. I'll 'splain it to Kerry. And not sure if she saw the HTL video, so am glad you reposted it, also for the new galz. Ohhhhhh and mahalo for the "DILLIGAF"....why couldn't I remember that??? I love it, and after Junie started it, we all used it for awhile.
Oh DorK, I am so (you know...can't say the word though)...meant to mention your friend Cindy. Glad Lori reminded me. I think I need to use Lori's brain as needed! Just so sad that Cindy does not have long. And I know you are still hurting from losing your fantastic doctor. (((Hugs)))
Ok. gotta get my butt in gear....nuttin gettin done wif me on the 'putah....ciao for niao....
-
Ok, I have to say that is one awesome lounge! Loving the poolside fire pit, and the hot firefighters, lol. I can't even figure out how to upload pictures yet! Will work more on that later, need to work on getting this kitchen painted.....
Goldie, the only melatonin that works for me is extended release, if you can find it. And I can't figure all of the letters out but thinking LIGAF is like I give a F_ck? Do tell.
Kerry, so sorry about your mother. Wish I could have met her, she sounds like she was one he'll of a woman! I lost my mother to cancer six years ago this January, and the first everything is hard, especially not getting that phone call in the morning on your birthday. Saying special prayers for you. I would love to be a part of your Birthday toast on Friday.
Xoxo
Allison -
You got it MrsV............the whole thing is Do I Look Like I Give A F*ck. And yes, we DO have an awesome lounge and the patrons are even more awesome!
How do you know if the Melatonin is slow release? I don't see that mentioned on my bottle. I order mine from the cancer center I went to. It is not cheap, but is independently tested for authenticity, potency, solvent residue, stability and bacteria, yeast and mold counts. Melatonin is also a powerful antioxicent and helps regulate our immune function. I pay $25 for capsules.
-
I get mine at a compounding pharmacy in the area. The bottle says Melatonin P.R. 3 mg prolonged release Bisected Tablets. Douglas Laboratories is the manufacturer. This bottle has 60 tablets and is $11.99. Ask the cancer center if they carry PR melatonin, I swear I could take any amount of regular and wake up after 4 hours every time. I take 6 mg (2 pills) of the PR and sleep 6-8, right through hot flashes! Awesome. Hope it works for u. The number for compound care where I pick these up is (502)244-6500. Ask to talk to one of the pharmacists, they're great!
-
Mrs_Vino - do you know if a prescription needed for compounding pharmacy melatonin?
-
Checking email and BCO from work, think i will save the video for at home (lol - am just making an assumption here!)
I am always ready for a drink, earlier the better on Friday. Only know of junie from all of you ladies kind words, that's more than good enough for me.
Mrs Vino, what an awesome DH hobby, and you get the benefits, quite clever. Too bad I live in a condo with no space or would suggest it.
Oh well, on to work, just stopped in for a lunch time laugh, oh, perhaps while here, Pants, a glass of vino with my left over lamb lunch? -
Oops, DILLIGAF is one of my all time faves!
-
No script needed LynnyLou :-)
-
LOVE the video!!! I definitely recognize some faces ...
-
OK, don't know how you ladies decide DOTD, but I'm having a very good, much needed vodka and grapefruit. Waiting for DH to get home to take DD and I out to dinner, been a VERY long day! My painting turned into Dr. Appts., and am now adding a hysterectomy to my next surgery. Not even gonna open that can right now. Cheers!
-
Am sitting in a bar watching my beloved Philadelphia Phillies in a 0 - 0 game. Sticking with beer, cause it's baseball. Go Phillies.
Loved the video - even has a scuba diver, who was that for? -
Scubs, how 'bout those Phillies. they scares the bejeeeeevies outta me in the end.....me just popping in for a wee bit (well for me, since this will not be a whole page). the lounge is biddier den ever these days, so glad to see some new fun folks here, yippeee!!
Love the idea of a big partay all weekend long. If Kerry is reading, she will se that we know how to throw a party. Wonder if she knows about the lampshade partay's we had at Junie's house when her DH was away, gosh we tore that place apart. I will be ready for the bus. But need BEANIE to help me load it up with Miller Lights! BEANIE??? come out come out, wherevr u are, we needs you. You has the key to da bus!! Maybe Jaybird has an extra key?
Work was better today, less hectic. I had a call from a very special loungette, made my day. Thanks you! I am still soooooo exhausted and sore from my party weekend but is was sooo worth every minute. Starting to bum out, next surgery is two weeks from Thirsty. This one is gonna be tough - for the new chickadees, this one is to have my hand fixed from nerve damage after many breast surgeries. One would think that once you lose the girls, it would be all uphill but for this DorK, recon has been rought. The 10th breast surgery in Dec (or Nov, I forget lol) should be my last.
speaking of new girls, Allison and uhhh, crrap, is it Sheryl who is not really new, or another? I only read two pages here and still want to ketchup, have not read since late thurs or early friedey, hate missing anything good.
Claire, what is going on with your man?? I saw something about pancreatic cancer? will pray for him. does he live close by or far from you? and what's for dinner (could not resist). I already ate, pulled pork on toast with a salad complements of DH.
Lori, loved seeing the htl video again and also the tribute to Junie. Didn't HD start the foil thing here? I miss her, hope she shows up. I hope she is well. Nice chatting with you today, wow, two loungettes in one day, me feel special.
Still apologizing for not ketching up but will be sure to do my best over the weekend. Yippeee!!
As Junie would say, "burP".....
CheeRs.
DorK ♥

Scuby, The scuba-diving chick is our Donna (casinogirl), who used to be a regular here, but now stops by when she can. C'mon back Donna....we miss you!!!
That sucks that you had such a bad day, Allison. Hope the dinner will be good!
Oh DorK....made my day too....it was wunnerful to hear your voice!!!
DH and I went to a seminar at my PS's office on the cool-sculpting (where they freeze fat cells). Sounds best if you only have some problem area, or just 10 lbs or so to get rid of. BUT I went for the drawing. At their seminar a few months ago, which was an auditorium full of people, when they got closer to the big GC's, I said "I want that one!" (prolly a little too loud...lol)...but then my name was drawn! And it was a $250 GC, which can also be used for laser treatments, etc. SO tonight they drew 3-4 names (just $100) and there were just 2 GC's left. SO they asked my DH to pick from the bowl, and I said (again, a bit too loud)...."You'd better draw my name"....and when they read it, yup, it was meesie! Just $150 (I should have held out for the last one...lol), but bettah den nuttin. Then we went out for dinner...and mine was free, from Ruby Tuesday, from my b'day. Had to have my "Happy Hour" in about 15 min before we left the house for the seminar, though! Was a fun night!
APB for Beannie!!!! We not only need you here, but you have the only keys to the Bus!!! How the heck did that happen???? LOL. Come on down!
Anyone still around for a nightcap??????RRW
-
Oh, just read that our Chrissy's picture (w/ the other gals, and the traveling pants) might be in the San Antonio TX Sunday paper! Read this on her journey thread. How awesome!!!!
-
What a fun thread! I was recently waiting in my dr's office and overheard a couple of ladies talking about this website. Although I've abstained since my diagnosis, I would love to raise a virtual dirty martini toast to all of you ladies. Loved the lounge video, esp the bartender dudes. Please tell me they are available for private parties, lol!
-
am here for a nightcap. likewise, Kathy, so nice to speak with you.
just looked at the Pant's and shed a tear. it was so special to have the chance to see them "in person" and I was sort of bend as I had no idea once they went to texas they would visit Chrissy. yippeee, I will drink to that. After looking at the pants' website, i had thought that it would have been cool had I called our local ABC news as they do a lot of stories based on tips from viewers and that would have been a beautiful story and a great tribute to my stage iv friends.I have to make time to post on Chrissy's great adventure. Sure hope she makes the San Antonio news!
have to have a shower and wash my hair, it is already not yet an easy task and have to do it in candle light, still no electric in the main bathroom or my bedroom). DH wants to play but I am so tired. beg me to stay up late.I may come back for another nighty cap after my shower, we will see. love you chickadees! CheerZ and a bucket o beers, oh yeah!
peace!
-
oops., to our newer gals, do not confuse my favorite taddie tender, Pants with the traveling pants. Two different topics. Would love to again find the web page for the travling pants, by the end of week, should see Chrissy there....will be sure to find it for you all. Ok, all this rambling ain't getting my sorry arse cleaned (tmi)?? ha!
-
WELCOME OLY!!! sorry I bumped into you. This is a cyber lounge and we have servants, a pool, swim up bar, fire pit and the best breast friends you ever want to meet. If you go back a page, to a post by Golide, you will see the offical HtL video along with her special tribule to one of our favorite loungettes, Junie, who is no longer here but always with us in spirit.
Come on girls, tell her all about us, I have to get in that shower yet (will slurp down this drink so me has time for a nighty nighty cap) CHEeRs!
-
DorK, Here is the website for the Traveling Pants.....
-
Kathy - sounds like you are on a roll! I have good lottery karma too... we should play the lottery. One year they had a drawing at a local boutique every day for 12 days (the 12 Days of Christmas). I won 3 times, including the grand prize which was a really nice wallet but I also won a silver clock (Brighton) and a GC. That is how my kids got into #1 charter school in the nation (also #2 high school overall) - they have a lottery. Hmmm... the local schools are having a drawing for a new car (Prius or Subaru Outback). Since I actually need a car maybe I'll win?
-
Sounds like a *winning* idea, Gail! Wouldn't it be awesome if you won a car!!!!! WooHoo....I'll keep my fingers crossed.....
-
JOTD for our wine-making friends:
How do you make a small fortune in making wine?
First you start with a large fortune.
