Clear scans but fatty liver

Hi gals!

I did a bone scan and a CT scan (lungs, pelvis, abdomen) last week and it was all clean, woohoo!!! I'm excited and happy beyond belief.

The only concern is that they found my liver to be fatty and to have a hipodensity. I read that fatty liver can be a side effect of Tamoxifen. Has anyone experienced it before? What did you do? I'll definitely be more proactive about losing the 20 lbs I gained

from treatment and then more!

Let me know what you do to keep your liver in top shape. Also, can fatty liver be a risk factor for metastasis?

Thanks!!!!

Congrats on the clean scan, I just had one myself...it's a great feeling!  I hope someone will come along who knows more about the fatty liver thing.  I have heard it happens bc or not, a dr. I use to work for had one because she was on the Atkins diet.  Good luck.

Fatty liver can be caused by lots of things, especially cholesterol-lowering drugs, alcohol, etc.  My liver enzymes were elevated for a short period during chemo, but came back to normal within a couple of weeks.  Avoid alcohol and acetaminophen, as they can worsen the situation.
