Feeling much better today! Yeah!  Am awfully tired though and plan to just lay around the house.  I think I'm going to climb in my recliner and just take a nap.  It's back to all three jobs tomorrow so I know I need the rest.  Not as achy today yet.  Just took my meds for the day.  Kids are supposed to come over today and mow my yard for the last time (I hope) before fall sets in.  Did most of my housework and laundry yesterday while the steriods were working!  I do like the burst of energy I get on Saturdays after treatment.  Helps a whole lot.

Shelly:  I have not tried the milk of magnesia.  I have been taking ex-lax and seems to be working today.

Kimberly:  I was seriously thinking about a disposable enema if I hadn't found relief today.  Think I will get a couple just to keep on hand in case I need them.

Kayrem:  You go girl!  I've even gotten up enough courage to go out to the mailbox bald and of course, I never wear anything around the house.  I went to the store the other night in my dew rag!  Being bald is not so bad.

Belleast:  My worst day for aches and pains last time was day 5 from the shot.  I just felt so bad that day.  The next day I felt much better.  Waiting to see what happens this time.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

    HUGS!

Shelly,  The milk of mag. bottle said dose for an adult was 2 to 4 TBS.  I just put 2 T in about 6 ounces of prune juice and mixed it up!  Hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Overall, I would say the Chemo 09/2011 folks had a pretty good week.  It seems going back to Grandma's solutions to remedy the constipation/diarehha issues seems to work best!  I wish I had my Grandma with me...she had a remedy for everything!

I had a chemo moment...I totally forgot to have my bloodwork done on  Friday.  Better yet, I never even made the call for the appointment.  Duh!   I will call and get in on Monday - just monitoring my Hemoglobin real close - it was 9,4 at treatment, the highest it has been so I am not overly worried but I will get it done on Monday.  Chemo brain after only 2 treatments.......ahhhhhh.......what am I in for????

    Hugs all

    Hi

I am better today without fever!  I woke up throughout the night with really itchy tingly scalp!  Combed my hair which is already short and a lot more than normal came out.  The reality is sinking in and freaking me out!!   I ordered a couple sleep caps on ebay and a scarf hat that says "chemo sucks" for fun.  I am scared to be bald.  Although this entire experience seems worse until it happens so I will get through this part too. Hope you all have nice Sunday.

My Hubs shaved my head today, down to 1/4 inch, and I shaved his completely bald, at his request. I have to say I'm loving it! Very freeing. I can't stop rubbing my head =)

On a different note, has anyone tried Smooth Move tea for constipation? I havn't had any problems with constipation since I started chemo, but I have used this tea before. I would drink a cup at bedtime and it would work in the morning. It's active ingredient is sienna and it comes in chocolate or plain flavor. I like the chocolate

Sara - I'm so glad you are feeling better!!!

Chemobrain - Yes, why are the frozen vegetables in the refrigerator?  Why does it take 3 trips to the bathroom to get the anti-perspirant on?  Why do conversations flit from here to there and then 5 minutes later I remember, well, here's the part I wanted to tell you.....and complete the story?  Was I always like this?  Not this bad.

I was having a terrible time with constipation, I've been using Myralax and eating 2 activia daily. Yesterday, I took Milk of Magesia and it worked...now I'll see if the rest can keep me going.

Also shaved my head today. I hadn't read about leaving it short so we cut it all the way down. Hope it doesn't cause any trouble.

Kate & JonWow - everyone is shaving their heads this weekend!!  I am on Tuesday.  I got my wig through the hospital so they set a hair shaving/wig fitting appointment a day or so before the day most people lost their hair.  i haven't lost any so far - and I am on day 12.  I hope I can make it to tuesday.

I certainly don't want to invade or make anyone feel uncomfortable... but I would love to see pics of any or all of my newly shaven or headfull of hair chemo sisters.  I will be attaching before and after shots!! If I can find out how to do it.  :)

Sara, So glad to hear you're feeling better!  Itchy, tingly has been my middle name for the past few days.  I picked up my halo wig yesterday in preparation, but couldn't bear to get the full wig yet.  Thought I'd only thin.  I think this hair thing is the worst part.  At least with surgery and chemo, you have a date, you go and then you carry on.  I took pictures of myself this morning with the self-timer as if it was the last supper.

P.S.  I rode to the golf course today and back.  I forgot about the electrical voltage over there and my buns were getting shocked left and right ;-).  I'll PM you later.

Kelliregi and Lee Ann, It must be head shaving day in our little world.  My husband was going to do me (so to speak) and today my hair is just falling out like crazy.  I got a call from a girlfriend today who told me that a very nice salon by our mall will do the cut for free when you donate to Locks of Love.  Well, I've been planning to donate all along and I figured if I don't get over there today, there won't be anything left to donate.

Why did I think this wasn't going to happen?? I can't believe I was in partial denial.  Maybe because I kept hearing that SOME don't lose it.  I posted the other day and ask the entire BCO if there was anyone who DIDN'T lose it.  I heard back from many and it seems that only ladies with the regime of CFM will thin and not lose.  Oh well, doesn't matter.  I have my blonde halo (cream toffee to be exact) and I'll order my long red/brown locks tomorrow.  Time to move on to the healing process.  The sooner the hair is gone, the sooner we move to the next stage.

    Happy Sunday Everyone!

All these posts about constipation, and I gotta be the odd one out.  :)

Immodium is my friend today, but I do think the Neulasta is at least keeping my white counts from crashing.  I hope.

Kelliregi - the Smooth Move tea is great.  It tastes like a good cup of tea and does not hurt the mouth sores and it works like clockwork!

Oh and I had to jump back in - I cut off my ponytail for Locks of Love some weeks back and gave myself a fun kicky short cut.  I thought I would have more time with it but it started to shed and in the shower getting ready for the wedding road trip - fuzz fest!  I have let it shed out and it is so annoying that it is time for a shave.  #4 is what I have been seeing.  I have the 4 donated wigs - granted they are all some shade of blond and all but one is curley.  My Christmas present to myself will be a new wig in my color to use the $350 allotment from my insurance company.  Then I take my time to find my everyday wig.

So...another shaver to add to the ranks!

    Hugs and no knicks!

I don't think I'm much help for posting pics. I'm a Mac girl. I pulled my pic off of FaceBook and onto my desktop. Then I control/clicked on the pic, clicked on "more Info" and got a URL fro the "Where from" line. I cut and pasted it into the box for posting pics. I got lucky and it worked.

Bluejay - I'm in the same boat - the opposite of constipation. I've only had to use the Imodium for one day though. Good luck with your WBC!!

Kate - Great idea.  And thanks girls for sharing.  I don't have a camera so I'll have to have my neighbor take a picture tomorrow (Packer game is on now and you do not disturb a Wisconsinite during a Packer game).  Can't wait to see all the pics from those who are willing.  Thanks Kelli and Lee Ann for stepping up to the plate so fast and giving the rest of us courage.  You look great!!!

I did walk topless with the dogs and my sister today around the neighborhood.

RC-I had the Picc Line inserted on Friday and have chemo tomorrow.  Several of my freinds who are nurses said that I will be glad that I had this done,  So far so good but will let you know my experience after my chemo. Thanks for the information on the wash.  I will be ordering since I seem to need all of the help I can get.

today has been a very emotional day for me, crying, breaking down etc. i took some compazine today for nausea, does anyone know if it effects u emotionally?

on a good note, called my sister, got the h*ll out of the house and spent the afternoon with her. had a good visit even with the emotional breakdowns. she gets it,she has been thru h*ll,her 18 month old granddaughter was beaten to death by an ex daughter-in-law's boyfriend. i'd rather go thru this then what she has and is going thru this past 2 1/2 yrs, trial date march 5th,finally. i hope i'm thru treatment/radiation and any other surgery if needed by then because i will be at that trial even if i have to postpone radiation.

we went for a long walk so got my exercise today.

You ladies are really rocking the bald!!!  I have second treatment on Wed and thought I would do the shave on Thursday...but might do it Tuesday when my neice styles my wigs.  Why is the hair so hard to part with...I kissed my boobies goodbye no problem...guess cuz the hair is not cancerous and trying to kill me

Belle - Some days weaker than others.  I suspected it was due to the weariness from treatment side effects, sapping my strength physical and emotional.  I am glad you saw your sister today.  I know if I am alone too long and not interacting it will be one big pity party.  Seeing other people lets me think about something else and their problems and it's an emotional relief.  So sorry your family had such a horrible tragedy.  What a heart breaking story.  Keep strong for your family.

Belle- I'm also very sad to hear about your family's tragedy. I can relate to the day you had and agree with Kimberly....it's hard to be "up" all the time with everything we are tackling, not to mention the roller coaster of emotions directly related  to some of the treatments we are receiving. Just like the crying and breaking down seems to come out of the blue, so do the better moods. Hoping you wake up tomorrow feeling much better.

Belleast:  I am so sorry for your family tragedy.  Hang in there.  We are all on that physical and emotional rollercoaster.  Some days are just better than others.  I just can't be up all the time dealing with this stuff.

Hoping we all have a wonderful day tomorrow!

    HUGS!

POWER TO THE BALD CHICKS! You all look awesome and since I have been bald a few weeks longer and have seen not one other bald gal I opened this tonight and it was like seeing my own kind- very comforting. Will post mine if I can figure out how.

    Kimberly- late Happy Birthday!

Belle- My second chemo made me very depressed and weepy and I am usually a very even keeled person. Some mornings I still wake up and think is this really for real. It is up and down I have been great for the past 4 days and if I don't look in the mirror I almost feel back to the old normal. Like CJRT said think of what we have all been through since dx. Who wouldn't be a little emotional.

I have the opposite problem of being stopped up we had company the other night and I jumped up ran for the door bowled my son over while everyone sat there with their mouths hanging open. I returned 15 minutes later after a shower and a change of clothes sat back down and calmly said "pass the potatoes please" I am learning to take everything in stride.

All the bald pics are awesome! I too took the plunge on friday night and got it cut verrrrrry close, not buzzed, but still looks like a GI Jane. Guess what, I love the feeling of it! My husband is AF and son is Army and now I know why they like their hair so short!  It felt so good to lay on my pillow without hair getting all sweaty and caught up everywhere while I slept!  And I don't think it looks that awful!  I may never want longer hair again! But it's falling out like little one inch pine needles right now, I feell like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree every time I touch my head, lol.  Don't know how I will look with a totally bald head, probably like ET.  Thank God I like my wiggie...it debuts tomoro, let's hope none of the kiddies pull it off, hahaha!

Gearing up for chemo 2 on Thursday, Cooka are you still on same schedule as me? Anyone else? I've been feeling so good for about a week and I haatae the thought of getting all icky again. UGHHHHHHHHHHH.  I will definitely be doing miralax and omnaprazole (acid reducer) two days before, during and after.  Don't want that horrible brick feeling in stomach either again.  How has everyone felt after chemo 2, better, worse or same as with number 1?
