I just got an email from a former co-worker and she is having a very hard time with her reconstruction healing due to the radiation. I don't know what type of BC she was dx with but had (has) a rare type called atypical microglandular adenosis. Usually it is B9 but hers is cancer. She already had 2 lumpectomies but they were not able to get clean margins even after her BMX still could not get clean margins. She is done with chemo and radiation but after 1 month it still has not healed. I told her she should visit BC.org because she is really in the dark about this. Poor kid.

She has been emailing me back and forth which is nice.

She also had both IDC and DCIS, the atypical microglandular adenosis had individual cancer cells throughout it (they described it as there being no cancer tumor within it but more like what a shotgun blast would do...little things over the whole area).  Even with the mastectomy, they could not get clear margins in the area heading under her arm but, there was also nothing left to take.  They were already down to muscle and skin.  And that's why she opted to put radiation on top of the chemo.  Treating systemically.  She is TN so Tamoxifen and or Arimedex would not work for her.

I wish I were cold.  Stil muggy here.  Just finished painting for the day, DH is still at it.

Sandy, do you have freecycle in your area?  Go to freecycle.com and check it out.  People list things that they want to give away and you can pick up whatever you want.  It;s all free.  The idea is to recycle things and keep them out of our dumps.  I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff that way and have alaso picked up some cool things for the kids.

Yes, construction is annoying.....big time.  Right, Diane??

Oh yes, it is a nightmare.   I am dreading this but grateful that we are required to move out due to the structural issues of the demolition. Thank goodness or I think DH would have said that we could stay.  Two weeks till move out.

It is chilly and wet here as well.  Enjoy your Saturday ladies!

LInda - but then your boys would be sharing again - doesn't sound like a good plan for you :)

Came up to the mountains for DH birthday weekend.  My vision = quiet, romantic weekend, dinner out, take walks, read by the fire.  His vision/reality = golf with his buddies both days, fishing this morning, after last night's beers at the 2R Bar with buddies (and me) then takeout pizza at home.  Guess we should have discussed this first :) I think if I had known what he really wanted was a testosterone weekend, I might have sent him alone.  Oh, and of course, there is a full afternoon of football ahead, after fishing.  I'll just stay in the kitchen and take care of everyone.  DD and her BF ar here too.  Currently, I am lying on the sofa and the are wondering if I am going to make cinnamon rolls.  I said I would like to try the ones they make :)

We started our construction 5 years ago.  We were adding a 16 by 24 family room.  My house is small so we really needed it.  We decided to do a second floor too.  Then DH lost his job and we ran out of money.  So the upstairs was buuilt, studded, heated but thats all.  So now we are finishing it.  It's about time but very sostly.  We renovated the master bath, add a second bath upstairs for the kids, a third bedroom (Dianes) and a small office.  Can't wait for it to be done.  Carpet people will be here tomorrow for the bedroom and office.

Glad to hear Jaimie is coming over to help you!

Linda - what colors are you using for my room :) I don't like any peachy/pinky tones.  And I assume I don't have to bring my family.

We are in the mountains until tomorrow morning - we have been looking for a cabin up here.  I think we found one here today.

They did make the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls and once we scraped off the hard, lack bottoms,  they were quite edible.

We just went to the local pub for a bite - why does anything I make either taste way better or way worse?  I guess if the food is fairly decent, I am delighted not to have prepared it.

I will see Dad tomorrow after work.  No news is good news.  Everytime I come into the house I look at the phone to see if the red light is blinking.  I get butterflies in my stomach when I see it blinking, it was NOT blinking, PHEW!

I wish the VNA nurse would wash the stitches they are crusted with blood.  YUCK.

It's not really whether the farts are loud or soft, it is realy the olfactory count that matters :)

Oh so right Diane. My DH can wake me from a deep sleep with the olfactory count count of his.
