Just found this thread, great fun!

I feel these lines from "I am Woman" are particularly apt for all of us here...they might have been used before I think, they're from Helen Reddy's I am Woman:

    Oh yes I am wise

But it's wisdom born of pain

But look how much I gained

If I have to I can do anything

    I am strong

    I am invincible

    I am woman

    Dedicated to all of you!

OK mine was Gitarzan by Ray Stevens.

Take the power to set you free
Kick down the door and throw away the key
    Give up your needs...
    Your poisoned seeds
Find yourself elected to a different kind of creed

And that was Money Can't Buy It by Annie Lennox.  Here's an easy one  :-)

Say you don't need no diamond ring and I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want the kind of thing that money just can't buy

     Easy-peasy!  I actually know it!

Money can't buy me love - The Beatles

I get the same old dream

     Same time every night,

Fall to the ground, then I wake up

Then I get out of bed, put on my shoes and in my head

Thoughts go back to the break-up,

These 4 walls are closin' in.... (hope these are correct (ish!) )

    Cause Baby I do

    Lady by Little River Band

In and out of my life

    You come and you go

    Leaving just your picture behind

Oh, I've kissed it a thousand times

    Sugar Pie Honey Bunch....The Temptations

Hey Kay1963....I was born in Hatboro in 64!  Nice to meet ya!

    And then worst of all

    You never call, Baby

    When you say you will

    But I love you still

Nice to meet you too!!  I was born in South Philly, but moved to Delaware County when I was 9.  Still there.  How is Florida?

Not sure of the singer, but it's one of my favorites.  Belting it out right now!  Build Me Up Buttercup

    Talking about your troubles

    And you never learn

    Ride a painted pony.....

...let the Spinning Wheel turn - Blood Sweat & Tears

Sent a letter on a long summer day
Made of silver, not of clay
I've been runnin' down this dusty road

Okay, I had to look it up, but it's Wheel in the Sky by Journey.   Know the song, but not that particular verse.

Kind of keeping with that theme:

Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis

Pumped a lot of tane down in New Orleans

But I never saw the good side of the city.....

Proud Mary by Tina Turner (love her!)

This one is a little more obscure but it has always had meaning for me:

Seems like I've been here before

    Can't remember when

    I got this funny feeling

    We'll all be together again

No straight lines make up my life

    All my roads have bends

    No clear cut beginnings

    So far no dead ends

Circle....Harry Chapin (had to google it!)

Funny thing that you can sing it

With a cry in your voice

And before you know it, start to feeling good

    You simply got no choice

Song Sung Blue  Neil Diamond (love Neil Diamond!)

Can't keep his mind on nothing else

    He'll trade the world

For the good thing he's found

If she's bad, he can't see it

    She can do no wrong

IDK that one :-) so googled and found it was someone I like - John Prine - Hello in There

Ain't got no trouble in my life,
No foolish dream to make me cry.
    I'm never frightened or worried,
I know I'll always get by.

I Got The Music In Me - Kiki Dee (with Elton John if I remember correctly)

I'll be there when you're feeling down, to kiss away the tears if you cry,

I'll share with you all the happiness I've found, a reflection of the love in your eyes,

and I'll sing you the song of the rainbow, I'll whisper of the joy that is mine,

I don't know that one.   Looked it up    For Baby by Peter, Paul and Mary  And I LOVE Peter, Paul and Mary.

Been Away, Haven't seen you in a while

How've you been?  Have you changed your style?

And do you think that we've grown up differently?

Don't seem the same since you've lost your feel for me.

So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye.  There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys, there's only you and me and We Just Disagree - Dave Mason

Live Like you Were Dying - Tim McGraw

I've been to college, I've been to school

I've met the people that you read about in books

Here come a riddle her come a clue

If you were really smart you'd know what to do when I say...

it's Talking Heads but I can't come up with the title!

See the girl with cymbals on her fingers
    Entering through the door
    Ruby glistening from her navel
    Shimmering around the floor

The Waiting - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
    Would you still be mine?

The Waiting by Tom Petty, love Tom Petty

I was talking with a friend of mine

Said a woman had hurt his pride

Told him that she loved him so

Turned around and let him go

Then he said You better watch your step

    Or you're gonna hurt yourself

    Someone's gonna tell you lies

    Cut you down to size

Can't Buy Me Love - Beatles

Got a surprise especially for you,
Something that both of us have always wanted to do.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
