Bren, so glad you are having fun with Mom. Otter, I feel your pain. Anytime you have to deal with the government is time wasted times 10 IMHO. Also, I was in Tulsa last week. Sorry I missed you! Blue, hope the adjustment goes GREAT and you are getting better and better every day!
Thanks, all, for the well wishes on my stinking job situation. I just applied for another job I found on LinkedIn. Hope springs eternal.
-
Blue - hoping for a happy tune up tomorrow.
-
Hey-I'm still here. Mostly lurking these days. I've been coming home from work too tired to be witty!
I'm working in 2 different schools this year. I'm a paraeducator, not a certificated teacher, but I do a lot of the same work. In my 1st school, the culture is, and has been for a long time, that all staff is equally valued, whether a teacher or not. I'm finding that is not true at my 2nd school. Definitely 2nd class there to some. I had a teacher reprimand me right in front of my students because she didn't like that I was working with my group in the hall. I don't have anywhere else to go right now, but my supervising teacher is working on it. It's just such a contrast between the 2 schools, and I'm feeling a bit down that it is.
Barbara-I'm still holding out hope for your job interview. Everything is crossed for you.
(one of the) Mary(s)
-
(((((((Mary)))))) - what a bitch!!!
-
Thanks susie.
That was my thought as well. My students were a little stunned as well, I think.Mary
-
YramAL - what Susie said! No pressure to be witty here either. Telling it like it is is what we are best at. :-)
Barbara, I'm still holding out hope too. I think they would at least tell you the status of your application - not just leave you hanging. Maybe they got caught up in something else and haven't made any decisions yet.
Blue - I'm in your purse tomorrow, quiet as a sleeping lioness.
Just had my pelvic MRI today and see the doctor on Friday. Here's hoping at least I have no ovarian cancer. That is the scariest. Hoping my doctor says there is nothing too serious.
-
Athena, I'll be as quiet as can be tomorrow so as not to wake you. All clear on your MRI, no need to even check with your doctor.
Mary, I third what Susie said. Complain to the principal. Very unprofessional.
Barbara, good luck on your quest!
Bren, hope the weather clears up for you and mom. Sounds like you're having fun,
I've been watching Michael Jackson's death trial today and I am very sad. I loved that guy. Such a lost soul!
-
Athena-Our minds go to the worst places when we are scared. I hope your fears are unfounded.
I have already complained to the teacher I work with, and she took it to the principal. All are working to find me a better place to work with my students-I'm not sure what, if anything, has been said to the teacher that "reprimanded" me, but I do know that she has been kind of avoiding me. I do have a group of good kids, though-ready and eager to learn.
Mary
-
Mary - she'd do well to avoid you. We'd hate to have to send Blue's Sicilian "Family" to take care of the situation.
Athena - will be thinking of you all week. I agree with Blue, it's nothing! Nada!
Waving to everyone else. Don't have the sense to look back and make appropriate comments.
-
Athena - I know all will be well - I didn't realise it was a pelvic MRI you were having - I can now understand you having to wait for the results. It's the breast one I don't have to wait for as they look at it right away while you're there.
Been out doing various chores - some bloody bitch in an SUV started to back out and I nearly ran into her. All of my wine bottles, chicken and salad stuff fell on the floor - lucky nothing broke. I hate those things - they don't have the same visibility a normal car has.
Nearly time to go and have lunch with my bus friend - DH can look after himself
Left over pizza in the fridge....Zometa not until 3:20

HI
I'm here. Just don't have a lot to say. Too much news here about people diagnosed with or dying of cancer . It makes me so down. I couldn't go to the in person support group because bc has been so in my face with news of new people diagnosed or people dying and all that pink frou frou stuff and October hasn't even started.
ETA Can I be in your bag Athena and go with you for both Blue's appt and yours?
-
(((Rosemary))) I'm so sorry. What a crappy disease.
Barb - still holding out hope! Sometimes it takes a while for HR people to get their stuff together, and they probably have to finish all second interviews before they make an offer. And it's not just governments that waste your time. Have you ever tried calling Verizon? I fell asleep once and woke up covered in cobwebs.
Bren - Same for you, lady! People just don't move as quickly as they should.
Mary - What can I say? The bitches you have with you always. Don't you wish you could breathe fire some days? I bet Blue could hack into....something....and take care of that witch right quick.
Blue and Athena - best of outcomes for tomorrow's appointments!
My daughter's broken feet are healing and she went back to work tonight, so that's a good thing. And all's quiet on the cancer front, thank goodness.
Hugs all around!

I like the idea of Blue's Sicilian "Family" taking care of my situation. Knowing you all have my back makes me feel a whole lot better. Although watch it ladies, we'll probably be called "bullies" again!
Bren, I hope your work picks up soon.
Rosemary-I know what you mean about too many people being diagnosed with and dying of cancer. I have to limit myself to this thread most of the time, rather than the rest of the threads because we don't talk about cancer all the time here. It's a place to not think about cancer sometimes.
Hugs to everyone,
Mary

L'Shana Tova to all my Jewish friends!

Morning all - preparing to ride in Blue's bag today. I'll take a big bag with me to Johns Hopkins on Friday in case anyone wants to ride along. I'm not too worried at this point. My untrained, ignorant eye looked at the MRI films and in every instance what I think are the ovaries were nice and perfect and round. Honestly, as long as they are all right I'm not really worried about anything else. I now know why the MRI was ordered - something not serious at all - they want to rule out an overgrowth of the uterus based on the fact that I complain of pain during menstruation. In other words, that was the reason my insurance was given, but my doctor said he just wanted to get a good picture of me as a new patient.
Susie -arghhh - I share your opinion about those cars! If they are necessary (for dirt roads, big families, etc....) that's fine but too often they are not. Sorry about the spillage.
YramAL - I think the teacher got a talking to. Hope she learns some respect.
Happy to report that I slept like a log.
Hoping HL has a little more energy by the day.
-
Athena - nothing broke thank goodness. You can take me with you on Friday when you get the results.
Dinner was great - marinated lovely (skinless) chicken legs (organic) with salad, little potatoes in their jackets and Paul Newmans ranch dressing and a glass of vin blanc.
Had my Zometa infusion and was stuck there until 6:00pm waiting to see my onc - gave up and left - it's more important that he see the patient's who really need him - I can ask him my questions in 6 months. Sad to see one lady I know, who works in the rads treatment centre - she has bone mets - looks like she's not doing so well. She is using a walker and has lost weight and has stopped work. I went and saw her in her treatment chair and gave her a hug - she was my rad nurse. I hate this bloody bc!!!
On a lighter note, lunch with my friend from the bus was great - she's recovered from her implant surgery and is set to have the other boob reduced to match. She's got the right idea - she's not going back to work until next year - she has lots of long service, sick leave etc and is using it.
Just watched the first episode of The No1 ladies Detective Agency - I taped it on Sunday. Normally I will not watch anything where I have read the book. Well, it was absolutely outstanding - can't wait for the next one this weekend. Extremely well done - characters SO true to the books.
Time for bed - see you all tomorrow.
Blue - hope the adjustment went well.
Sue

Good morning
Athena. I thought your appt was sooner. But I am glad you have the films and all looks good. My onc tells me he will never retire but he is my age and I hate the whole new doctor thing. Trying to tell if you are are fit with his style his staff and oh yes, is he competent . Good luck with this one.
-
Good morning ladies! I am leaving in 10 minutes for Las Vegas via St. George first and just wanted to wave goodbye until next week. Hope everyone has a great week, doctor appointments go well, job interviews, etc. Will miss ya'll.
-
Ok - looks like they fed me some steroids today - can't sleep - will have to do a sickie or work from home tomorrow - it's midnight and I'm wide awake!!!
Sue
-
Hope everyone's apointments go smoothly today!
I'm off for an "all about me" day, as my husband put it. Climbing at the rock gym, then dental to get an only put on (the temporary one shattered Saturday when I was eating an energy bar, so I've been putting my tongue into this wierd hole in my mounth every few seconds!), then acupuncture, then massage with a new therapist. My old therapist is still my favorite (Mr. Kelly Hot Hands, I call him) but this new one is more geared toward imbalances of the muscles, not just a feel-good massage. I really like my feel-goods with Kelly, though. so we'll see. People who attack muscle imbalances generally make me sore, and I don't want to hurt after a massage!
Have a great day, everyone!
-
Jancie - have fun!!!!

Waving hello to all!
Been doing some stuff to get ready to go on our trip in a couple of weeks. It's always a good excuse to buy a few new clothes for one thing. Then there is the form I need to fill out about our dogs for the boarding place. She runs the rescue we got one of them from and is a sweetheart who loves dogs. But ... I have sent my daughter away with much less information than what's on that form ... favorite games, favorite toys, etc. etc.

Hope adjustments and MRIs go well ... it gets crowded in those purses sometimes but we like to make sure you can threaten to unleash your invisible friends if the docs/techs don't treat you right!
Mary ... can't believe that idiot thought you would be working in the hallway by choice ... yeeesh lady turn your brain on before running your mouth.
Good vibes to Barbara and Bren on new job and new clients. Unfortunately those doing the hiring are never in as much of a hurry as those looking for jobs are.
susieq ... if you have to be awake in the middle of the night at least it's our day time so you can probably find some company here. Nice that you have the option of working from home!
-
WhiteRabbit - I think I'll pull a sickie, but it is nice to be able to work from home. Still not tired - I should have asked the nurse what premeds she was giving me. Thanks for your company.
-
WR -- Dogs go to boarding school but cats stay home and look after things when you go away??When we lived in the big city and went on holiday, my unmarried niece would come and kittysit. Now, when we go away, the kitties go to her house in the big city!Blue -- good luck with the stim-correction. Hope they get it just "perfect" for you. And to everyone else with health/work issues, good luck! The weather here is sunny and mild, with rainy bits during the night. My Rose of Sharon bush has been blooming non-stop since the end of July and we're still harvesting tomatoes. Can't believe it's almost October already. DH and I are both Libra babies so it's our month!
-
Lindasa - good to hear you are both Librans. It was my nurse's birthday today and we agreed all Librans are nice people (except for our Prime Minister). She was even so sweet to say I don't look 59.
-
Off to bed to try again - sigh.
-
Athena, relieved for you. Hoping Blue's 'tune-up' goes well.
Still waiting.

-
I'm back. So far, so good. They changed to another lead on my right side. It will take a couple weeks to see if it's a good one. Thanks for all the well wishes. Off to eat something.
-
Hi everyone. Got back from Mexico last week with a suitcase full of supplements, medications and recommendations. Please cross your fingers for me that something's going to work. I must say I'm impressed with how much they care there. They really do want to help it seems. Had a little bit of trouble with the doctor's accent, but we stumbled through. Still feeling too funky to read up on how everyone's doing. Hope all is well with everyone.
-
{{Gracie}} Welcome back. Gentle hugs for you!
