Hello everyone, I'm just shy of hitting my 5 year anniversary from stage2a bc and discovered it is now in my bones.  The area with the largest tumor is in the sacrum.  Because of the location and damage it could do to surrounding nerves and bowel/bladder area, they are recommending 9 treatments of taxol to shrink it, before starting hormonal therapy.  Since I have already gone through chemo I dread doing it again.  Has anyone had to go through it twice?  Of course a big worry of mine is if my hair will even grow back a second time?? Thanks for sharing your experiences!

    Margie,

Yes. Lost hair four times. It came back different each time. I actually like this one (dirty blond and wavy). One time it was bright cherry red and stuck straight out, that one I was happy to lose LOL! Been on different chemos several times. Right now holding steady and dancing with NED on Tykerb and Herceptin.

Irish, I'm sorry to hear about your recurrence. I want to welcome you despite the reason for your being here.

I don't have first-hand experience with doing chemo again but a lot of women have good responses when they do.

    Best of luck.

    Leah

Sorry to here of the mets. I, like scuttlers, have lost mine four times as well. It always came back the same thickness and color except for the last time. It was still thick, but it was gray.

I lost all my hair on AC, but when I went on Taxol, my hair grew back.  Never lost head hair, but did loose eyelashes/eyebrows

Lots of us have been on many chemos.  Come over to the stage IV section, you can get lots of info there.
