My Mother's last days
The hospice nurse said she didn't think my Mother would make it until today.
I tried to take of her, she will know how hard I tried.
There is no greater pain than dealing with this.
I love you Mom.

So sorry for your pain. I remember being in that place - it hurts. I also wondered if I could still be me without my mother here....turns out I'm just like her. That's a nice feeling. May you feel comfort from love all around you.

May God give you strength to get through this difficult time. Know that your mother's love will always be with you. Her guidance help make you the person you are today. She may not always be with you physically, but her spirit will be there.

I am sending you wishes of strength and comfort.......

Thank you, we have had a special relationship.
I am losing my best friend.

Vailbridge,
I am at exactly the same point as you. We moved my Mum to hospice last Wednesday and they feel she is in her final days as well. I have been her primary caregiver for the last nine months and, although it's been a long glorious goodbye, I've never felt pain like this before. My mum is my best friend too. I'm an only child and she raised me as a single mom - it's a tight bond. I totally get where you're coming from. It totally sucks. I am so sick of this disease, so many people are defenseless against it. Where's the damn cure?! How much money do we have to throw at it before they USE some of it for a cure!!
I am always here if you need a shoulder, Vailbridge. Please feel free to contact me anytime. Peace be with you and your family.

You know what I'm saying, at times she's not there. I just want her to have peace, without meds. She has always hated Dr's and their med, t5his is no different.
We are just alike and proud of it, I know where I get it from.
Warm Hugs and love all around you!
No one should have to go through this.
I'm numb, but you pretty much said everything I wanted to.
-
Vailbridge, we are all holding your hand.
I have no words.

Hugs to you too Vailbridge. My mum's not "there" today either and her breathing pattern has changed now. I only stayed with her a little while and came back home today. Part of me wants to be there with her 24/7 but I also know how much she hates someone watching her sleep (we all do). I'm numb too and feel like a part of me is already missing. I miss the crap out of the Mum I used to have but I love this one that has replaced her in such a different and deeper way. I sometimes sit there and see her beauty that still is.

*hugs*

Breathe, baby. We're all lifting you up. Peace will come.
