OMGosh - I have so much catch up reading.

Scuttlers - do not change your name!  I love it so much and honestly never thought about the meaning of it until you posted this morning.  Got to have a wild side in you somewhere Laughing

Bren/Cindy - I spent every summer in Switzerland and of course 2-3 weeks every December to ski and there is nothing I love more than an authentic fondue.  When I move it takes me months to find any store that sells raclette - most people in this area have no clue what it is.  I had a raclette grill from Europe but it was 220V so I had to buy one that is 110volt. - that took me years to find as this was way before the "internet" came about.

HL - hope you are feeling a little better each day.  It is nice to see you here on a regular basis again.

Ann - I hate it when I want to nap and you have someone outside making noise!  There should be a quiet time between 2 pm and 4 pm daily!

On the wallet issue - I always have a ton of receipts where the dollar bills would go.  Never have the cash for that area anyways but the receipts - it gets ridiculous!  I need to start organizing my purse a little bit better and on a regular basis because yes....it feels great when you know which pocket to go to for a certain item.  I can't tell you how many times I have missed cell phone calls because I couldn't find my phone - I had stuck it in a different pocket.

I am leaving for church and then to see my horse so I won't be back until this evening.

    Ya'll behave!

Can't help you out with that Rosemary.

Hi all. Had a short swim and a little vitamin D-gathering then the rains came. So I think I will read. Have a new Catherine Coulter. This one is the Savich series. I like those.

    Later at  the BCOB&G.

"Behave"?  Is that the opposite of behavenot?  Are you one of the behaves or one of the behavenots? Wink

Morning girls - just checking in before I get ready for work - don't know what to wear. It's a bit chilly now but will be 24 C today, so I'll have to wear something with short sleeves I guess. I am looking forward to it. I didn't want to go on the trip because I was just getting back into it after 6 weeks full time back in August. I've not really been there much since Oct 09.

I'll check in later when I get to work.

'Morning, 'afternoon and early evening, everyone...I'm suffering from temporary brain fry as my delicate cells gasp for air following work on some very difficult logical reasoning problems. I think I'll blame my lack of mental stamina on a headache brought on by the end of my period. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Susie - for better and for worse, you will probably feel as though you had never left home within two or three days. Enjoy your bonus, at any rate.

Blue - trial and error - the story of my life, albeit with prescription medications. I hope you keep a good log, although even then it can be hard to know what's what.  My logs sometimes make weather maps look simple by comparison.

Lindasa - wonderful definition! I will go with it.

Pig bee-hind probably isn't something I'd like to remind myself I am eating just as it is going into my mouth, but being a carnivore, I love anything that ran.Tongue out

Behave? My grandfather, when told to behave himself would answer "I always behave myself. The question is how?"

Sizzler steaks corn red potatoes and brownies. Nothing fancy but HE MADE BROWNIES. One of my favorites and not something he usually makes.Oh and the red wine made everything better.

He was going to soak; fruit in vodka but we had no fruit so he made brownies and I had wine. We have vodka made from grapes which is surprisingly good.

Athena - do you like flank steak? Think flank, not butt. And, besides, it's Boston Butt. Very educated and proper!

Just thought I'd close with condolences for Frankie's family. Never knew her or corresponded with her, but her courage, spunk and sense of humor in very grave circumstances were touching and reminded me of another Canadian who is no longer here - dearest KK. I remember that Frankie posted some lovely pictures on the stage IV thread and gave vivid descriptions of the decadron. She was 100 percent alive all the way even as her brain mets appeared with a vengeance. She was recently married and she and her husband looked like such a nice couple.

Here's to one woman I would love to have met ((((Frankie)))

....and one whom I never did, even though I considered her a friend

    ((((Konakat))))

I think he's a little upset, pappa is playing with his toys while mom smirks in the background.

And let me introduce you to my handsome son and his girlfriend.

My other DD is still in L.A. with her fiance.

    Good morning, all!

Thinking of Frankie this morning and the one time I met her in NOTL.  So adorable in her cute little hat, so proud of her recent marriage (she brought photos to show around), so very bright and tenacious in her search for more information about her disease.  She was a special person.

If you've ever worked for a boss who reacts before getting the facts and thinking things through, you will love this!

Arcelor-Mittal Steel, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers.

On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning against a wall. The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know that he meant business. He asked the guy, "How much money do you make a week?"

A little surprised, the young man looked at him and said, "I make $400 a week. Why?"

The CEO said, "Wait right here." He walked back to his office, came back in two minutes, and handed the guy $1,600 in cash and said, "Here's four weeks' pay. Now GET OUT and don't come back."

Feeling pretty good about himself the CEO looked around the room and asked, "Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-ball did here?"

From across the room a voice said, "Pizza delivery guy from Domino's."

    Lovely pictures, Blue.

We have 'matrix' management at my work. What that really means is I have ten bosses and have to triage to see who gets taken care of first. And they are all bad bosses. Still hoping to hear soon.

Barbara, that sounds like an awful arrangement. Bad corporate structure? Those too-many-chiefs-not-enough-Indians situations lead to a lot of mistakes and miscomunication in my experience.

I have a more traditional problem: a bad immediate supervisor who, frankly, shouldn't be in the business of supervising anybody. (Edited out out "sad" part. The weather is being good to me and I'm getting superstitious, so I will say nice things so as to encourage "nice" weather to stay. NonsenseLogic. :-) )

ETA: Blue, I remember how crazy my nephews were about Thomas. The music to the DVD still rings in my head. I think they had everything ever manufactured about Thomas and friends.

Edited the whole dratted post - lol. Suffering from mental dysgraphia today, I think.

Yes, Athena, it is a bad situation and yes, there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians (me being an Indian).
