Libby - great to hear you are doing well - hang in there.
Blue - good luck without the meds.
Athena - the previous PM was knifed in the back by the current one and she is worse!!! Hopefully something will happen to cause an election and we'll get the right people in to fix up the mess.
Time for the first current affairs show - see you later.

Moving a bit slower without meds but still get the freezing spells so its definitely the stimulator that needs adjusting....my right side to be exact. I'm down to 1 pill a day but don't think I'm ready to eliminate that one yet judging by my slowness today. I go next week for an adjustment.
I had a hoot looking for a youtube to post this a.m. but I must say after a couple minutes my head was ready to explode. Is that the right term? I feel that since we are a source of entertainment, and not wanting to disappoint, I'd post a little something. I especially love the last bit of the video. The one with the black dog. hehehehe!
-
HL, so good to see a post from you!
-
Just in case, here's another one!

Funny story....
During chemo I got screwed! I didn't get my brazilian wax job via chemo like I expected. The hair in the middle went away but on the sides where you would normally wax actually stayed!
Today I am at a Women's Expo and they are offering wax jobs $5.00 per area - now mind you not the brazilian as you are in an Expo center with people walking by but I decided that I would get my upper lip waxed (my hair is blonde and you can't see it) along with the sides of my cheeks where the chemo fuzz came in. How can you beat $10 for both of those?
I laid down on the table - she put the hot wax on the side of my face and then WACK!! There went the paper and my cheek hair. I jumped 3' in the air almost fell off the table and of course I screamed out in pain.
A women walked by and said "I guess a bikini wax is out for you?" I respond "Never in my LIFE!"
Then she had to do the other cheek - yes...it was still painful but I had gripped the table with both of my hands so that I wouldn't jump up again and I clamped my mouth shut.
The upper lip job didn't hurt so much but I sure felt that my face was on FIRE!
And yes...the people that heard me scream and saw me almost fall off the table just stood there to watch the rest of the job.
At least I will look somewhat good for the Las Vegas reunion next week!

Bluedahlia--OMFG.....I just picked myself off the floor after watching that video. Just a minute while I dry my eyes..........Holy moly did you see that last dog? NO WAY can that little mutt pee all the way the length of that wall.NO way! What do the rest of you guys say?
-
I thought that was so funny I pee'd myself! I don't know, it looked pretty real but I agree he must have been holding onto it for days. I guess it gives new meaning to "piss on you"! Hahahahahaaha!
-
Jancie, That's just not right!
-
HL - Boat pics received and commented upon. :-)
Jancie - Kudos to you for braving a wax! I've never had one because I just know I'd have red stripes where I used to have hair, and by the time the red faded the hair will have grown back. I know lots of ladies swear by it, though.
It's nice to know that this thread is so entertaining to others! (Just so you know, I'm tap-dancing as I type this.)

Thanks for the laughs, Blue! I've always loved the video of the "screaming" pug, and the dog that growls at its own back leg.
Thanks for entertaining us all!
Mary
-
E, you sure you're just tap dancing? I thought I heard some high notes there.
Mary, you're welcome. My pleasure.
-
Either that little dog was intensively trained to do what he did (and how many gallons of water did he drink beforehand??) or he's just incredibly fastidious about not getting his hindquarters wet! And the bubble-bath loving pup made me giggle! I needed that -- thanks Blue!
-
Blue - I hope they adjust the stimulator so can get off the meds. It's not fair you have to contend with PD and BC.
I got my new wallet. They didn't have any handbags I liked - I'm extremely fussy and want 4 compartments so I can keep everything organised. The wallet, however, is exactly the same layout as my old one - lots of slots for loyalty cards etc. so I'm very happy with it. Just loaded it up and did a clean out as I went. The little bits of paper I carry around is incredible. I found 4 with details of bus times to and from work. Don't know why I needed 4 of them.
The plan for the rest of the day is to make roast lamb sandwiches for lunch, then get down the summer clothes and put away the winter clothes. It was so weird going away in Winter and coming back to another season.

I get my eyebrows threaded and really like the results. It seem they can get a more precise line and it stings a little, but only for a few seconds.
Off to watch the vid links..
-
Speaking of eyebrows-anyone here find that as they get older, they start to get a few old-man long eyebrows among the regular ones? I have a couple of eyebrow hairs in my right eyebrow that grow about twice as long as the rest-they're easy to spot and pluck, but what the heck???
Mary
-
Blue - I guess the stimulator adjustment is by trial and error? It amazes me how positive, smiling, and happy you look while fighting two major diseases. You're a better person than I!
And yes, just tap-dancing. At first I mis-read my own typing and thought it said lap-dancing! Pfffft. I wouldn't even know how.
Susie - It's amazing how much a lift you can get from an organized wallet and purse. My little purse is overflowing with receipts and it's starting to bug me. Time to get the shredder out!
Linda - I got the giggles at the dog protecting his bone from his own foot. I don't blame him, though. Feet can be tricky!
-
Enjoyful - I got down the clothes and some old handbags and found one that is still in good condition, so I've swapped over to that until I can find a new one. This one has 5 pockets!! I like to have my keys separate, my wallet/purse separate, work id, bus card etc all have their place.
I've almost finished the clothes switch over - just some pants to try on and see what's too big and too small.
Not sure I'm ready for going back to work tomorrow. I don't even know where I'm sitting - they moved up 6 floors while I was away. I've got a rough idea though, so I guess I'll go and see. Hope they haven't given my pc to someone else - setting it up can take a week.
Forgot to tell you - as well as DH chucking his dirty clothes on the floor we share our bedroon with his bike. We only have a carport, so no garage to store bikes and they'd rust if left outside anywhere. Mine is in the spare room and his is stored in our room. He could put his in the spare room but do you think he'll move it? Men!!! enough said. I'm envious of the ones who do their own laundry.

Had an incredible, wonderful birthday! We got up early and went to an auction. Bought a beautiful commercial size stainless steel BBQ grill, a Jazzy power chair, and several boxes of really cool stuff. And another sewing machine. (like I need another one, only have 28 now, but it was in a really nise cabinet with all attachments, and was only $5).
The power chair is one that sells for over $5000, and no one was bidding on it. Don't need it, and am thinking of putting it on Craigslist. But it is quite cool, and very comfortable. And maybe some day I'll need it. Should just sell it.
We were going to go out for breakfast and as we were walking to the restaurant, the owner came out and said "sorry, we just closed, had to fire the cook and we have no one to cook now.". So tonight we went downtown only to find out my favorite Korean restaurant had CLOSED, like forever! This has been one of my favorite places for OVER 40 years, and the doors were literally pad locked! So DH says, how bout we try that Fondue place? Never had this before. It was the MOST romantic and scrump-dilly-ish-est! For courses of incredible (and fun) food. Desert was DARK chocolate with fruits, lady fingers, cheese cake, fudge, mmmmmmmm..... And ICE WINE!
What a great day! (and for some wonderful and miraculous reason, I had none of the "post infusion" crap that is usual the day after!).
SusieQ, OCD purse organization must be a 9/24 b-day phenom. I have it too! (and very picky about how my towels are folded) My DH calls me Monk sometimes.
Blue, just amazed at how you are able to be such a ray of sunshine for us with all that going on. The you tube was hilarious! -
Glad you had a great day Scuttlers - dinner sounds scrumptious. I don't have the towel folding thing like, you but do like to be relatively organised.

OK, so I have insomnia tonight and bored silly. Had an insane thought of: "wonder what would come up if I Googled my handle?". OMG, copy below ...
1. Scuttler
1. A dirty girl who will get stupidly drunk, lose all control, and get off with anybody and everybody, often to the embarrassment of their friends. The victim will have the piss ripped out of them for ages because they were stupid enough to score the scuttler, which presents no challenge and can not be applauded.
2. A girl who will gladly take your heart and then stab you in the back/stomp on your balls, usually by getting off with another bloke. E.g. 'She scuttled on you' or 'you were a victim of a scuttler'
The latest Bond girl is a scuttler; when bond finds out that she betrayed him for the money and her ex-lover his face says it all: "the dirty scuttler! I'll kill her."
What happened to your girlfriend dude?
Oh, she scuttled on me.
I can't believe she scuttled!
Watch out for the dirty scuttlers tonight
NOW, how about a poll? Should I change my handle? This in NO WAY describes who I am, the handle is actually a combination of my first and last name. -
Scuttlers - it would be funny if your first name was Susan too
I used to use SuePen which was a combination of my first and part of our last name, but I never liked it. I like Susie. You didn't say if you were older than me or younger - I'm dreading turning 60 next year. Then again I meet active, lively 80 year olds, so it can't be all that bad.
Sue
-
Work tomorrow - sigh. We had my home made Pizza tonight - yummy - it is good to be home

-
Awwwwww guys, you're embarrassing me. Just like you all, I do what I have to do.
E, the stimulation is trial and error. There are literally thousands of combined settings to go through before they find the right one for the individual. Mine is bilateral so its a little more tricky.
Grandson's birthday party today so will be off this afternoon enjoying that.
-
Scuttlers, leave the name, but I will never read one of your posts the same way. hehehehehe! You bad girl, you!
-
Ray is makng french toast for breakfast and its ready so ttyl.
-
Morning Friends!!
The pig roast was a blast. There were tons of people and about 250 lbs of pork butt. I love pulled pork sandwiches. The band was good and everyone had a great time. The picnic was held up in the mountains on a couple of acres of green fields with a stream running through. The colors are starting to change in the mountains and it was a beautiful drive up there.
Susie .. can't imagine having to return to work after such a long absence. I returned to a job I had after a 6 week medical leave, only to find they had thrown out my computer and replaced all the systems to something I didn't know.
Blue .. breakfast sounds wonderful. Hope the docs can get your settings adjusted so you feel good. Wish they could do something about the pain and discomfort from the stimulator.
Scuttlers ... I like your name! It's good to be a little bad. ha!
Mary .. I've got some of those eyebrows. Drive's me crazy.
Cindy .. What is weaving?
Well .. Tim picked up my mom in Statesville on his way home from work this a.m. They should be home in about half an hour ... so I need to get a few last minute things done. I procrastinated until the last half hour this time. hahahaha!
Hope everyone has a great day.

From Urban Dictionary:
enjoyful: Beyond enjoying. Totally enjoying a situation. "Making up words sure is enjoyful!"
Sounds like a great time, Bren! Pork butt, though? That doesn't sound like anything I'd want to eat. Ever.
-
Pork butt is the hind flank of the pig. Around here it's caused Boston Butt. Very best cut for bar-b-que. My DD, the chef, has shown me how to cook it in the oven. Overnight. Absolutely delicious.
Glorious day, here. 70's and sunny. AND - big news is that my hair still hasn't started falling out. My hope is to keep it for another 10 days. My DS and BIL are visiting the end of the week and I'd like them to see me with normal hair for a change! This is my week off from chemo, so I think there may be a chance. If not, I've stocked up on new scarves.
Blue - go get that stimulator tweaked. I just hate that you have to deal with two horrible illnesses at the same time. Glad you're going to see your precious GS today.
Artsee - loved your paintings. I spent part of every summer when I was a child at Elkhart Lake. Love your part of the world.
Bren - know you'll have a good time with your mom. Wish mine was still here. I think of so many questions I want to ask her. Why didn't I think of them when she was here?
Scuttlers - don't dare change your name. Keep it, you'll have everyone wondering about you.
Susie - going back to work sounds horrible to me. Good luck this week and hope you can find your desk.
Mary - what's up with eyebrows? The worse is being stopped at a light and glancing in the rear view mirror and seeing a one inch long hair growing out of your chin! It wasn't there 20 mins. ago when you were putting on your makeup.
Can't go back a page without losing this, so I'm leaving many out. Hope everyone has a good day.
-
HappyLibby - good to hear your voice. I hope you are resting, and jsut doing a little bit of activity to keep your energy up. What I learned after my first major surgery years ago, was we have absolutely NO reserve of energy - when we get tired, PLOP. That's it. But a very small amount of activity, just a little bit, for me sometimes it was just walking around the house a little, does help build it up. You had a VERY VERY VERY long surgery.
Blue, I hope too you can be "adjusted" so you can reduce the meds. The courage you have to get out of bed every day - literally - facing PD and this @#%!#$% Arimidex. Yikes. So glad you have Ray there with you!!!!!!!
Scuttlers - I love your 'handle' - I am so tired of the sweetziepinkzee stuff I cheer, when I hear something even a trifflingly "brazen" - really. KEEP IT!
As I rub my very sore arm, has everyone remember to get a Flu shot. I know some don't get them, but boy I swear by it - has kept me flufree( no jinxes allowed) for years. Had my "final" pneumonia one too - isn't given after 64, unless you haven't had a booster one in 5 years.
Running outside to get the little bit of sunshine peeking thru the clouds - rain, RAIN, rain.
Oh, and Yramal , giggle, giggle, giggle, I don't need a tweezer anymore, but I do use my little embroidery scissors often

-
Bren, I haven't been to a pig-pickin' in years! Your mom lives in Statesville? That's just a hop and skip from where I grew up (Lenoir).
Yesterday I went to Denver for a symposium put on by my PS, Dr. Massey. It was for local people interested in DIEP/GAP surgery (since the local guys don't really do much of that) and also a lenghty session on LE for not only lay people put the physical therapists. So exciting to have a surgeon who's on the cutting edge of LE treatment, and who actually wraps her patients' arms prior to surgery. She's taking the symposium around the country, and if you know anyone who might benefit, dates are on her website.
Today was my one day in 7 to actually sleep late. But I woke up at 5:30, ready to go. Unfair! I've done my Pilates for the day, have some bulbs to plant, and I'd take a nap but DH is running a saw and pounding nails on the deck...Sigh. May as well pay bills!
