Lung lesions
My daughter 40 yrs old had ct to look for blood clot due to some chest pain which has stopped now which was negative. Found several lung lesions which were said to be unindentified now doing pet scan. She was stage 1 grade 1 no nodes in July of last year. Any one have anything like this be negative. So Scared right now Thanks

Shar1225 so sorry to hear about your daughter. i can say though that there are people with lesions which turn out to be scarring or another explanation other than cancer. I had a lesion on my liver which turned out to be a collection of blood vessel thankfully. Praying that's the case for your daughter.
Hugs

Shar there are MANY innocous things that show up as lesions on the lungs ime scarring from previos injury, past episodes of pneumonia or brronchitis, history of asthma, current illness/allergies. I think the only sure way to diagnose them is biopsy, but there are some lesions that are identifiableas cancer or not right away.
What did her doc say? -
Actually same thing you just said and of course try not to worry. This all started with sone shoulder pain she had for two weeks and got very bad one day which her primary wanted to check for blood clot. Of course pain is completely gone now and now doing all kinds of tests, bone scan, ct scan and now pet scan. I understand why her onc. didnt want to start testing in beginning.

Ditto reesie - - I had lung nodes light on PET scan with past hx of bronchitis, allergies, respiratory infections. I had a biopsy to the largest one they could reach which confirmed benign granuloma = junk in the lungs. These scans are very sensitive and picky up on any cellular activity. Hugs to you and your daughter. Joann

Update on my daughter had a scary week she ended up in hospital last Friday with severe chest pains and low wbc did all kinds of tests. Released from hospital Tuesday. Wed morning had what they called EUS procedure went down throat and did biopsy of enlarged chest node. Just got call this afternoon no cancer cells found. They think it is sarcoidosis still waiting on that but so relieved about the cancer. So i guess junk in the lungs also. She has dr appt tomorrow with her onc.but her onc. called this afternoon to tell today so would not have to wait till tommorrow. Thanks for your replies Sharri
