Not only do I have capsular contracture but I have fibrosis due to radiation.  I am two years out from rads and have been having increasing pain for over a year.  I start physical therapy next month but my doctor prescribed Trental along with Vit E to help with the pain.  I hate taking drugs!  Has anyone taken it, does it really work?

 Thanks.

    I am so sorry.

Most of us have some scarring from rads and surgery.

Have you considered physical therapy? Maybe the scar tissue can be Broken up a bit, or maybe you have swelling that contributes to the pain?

Haven't heard of trental. Maybe someone else has.

I know nothing about this, I'm clueless.

But I want to hear more about what is going on, what's happening with the implants? DOes the Dr think they will get better or no?

Ugh!  I am so sorry that you are dealing with this.  I have never heard of any of it.

     Gengle hugs!

My rad onc prescribed this to me too.  In the end I didn't take it....I also didn't do anymore follow-up appt with him.  I really really don't like taking pills.  The down side is that I do still have pain.  I'm just not willing to do anything at the moment.  He did tell me it was to help increase blood flow which would help with healing. mom3band1g - thanks for the info!  I am all over starting PT but the pill taking thing bothers me.  I will investigate the blood flow thing.

     Thanks again!

Yes, the PT helped but my insurance won't pay anymore.  I just can't afford to go anymore.  Make sure your pt person is someone who is very familiar with bc.  My muscle cording is much better and the constant pain is gone.
