Hi. I'm curious how everything turned out for you. I had BMX  with TE reconstruction. Path report showed deep margins and now I need radiation. Neither me nor my PS are very happy about this. My surgeon didn't remove the fascia despite knowing it was close to the chest wall, so I'm very disappointed and angry thinking it could all be very different if he had just removed the fascia. Now I'll never know but will have to deal with radiation SE with TE and implants. Wondering how you are faring after having rads with implants. Also, when did you have radiation, before or after your final implants. My PS says that new studies are recommending rads after implants.

Dear nana60 - My wife has been diagnosed with DCIS in her right breast.  You can see my two threads that I created - "DCIS Diagnosis Received - Comments Invited" (not so active now) and "DCIS Diagnosis Received - Doctors Visits - Comments Invited".  We have seen BC surgeon and reconstruction surgeons together.  My wife has been presented with a choice between lumpectomy plus radiation and mastectomy plus immediate reconstruction.  Both options will include a sentinel node biopsy.  We were told that in ten percent of the cases, mastectomy patients require radiation.  My wife's biopsy had four samples.  The Grade is Grade 2, there is some comedo-necrosis and suspicion of microinvasion in one sample but the other samples are non-comedo.  The ER is positve and PR negative.  We were told that the status of microinvasion can only be determined after the surgery.  My wife is leaning toward the mastectomy.  We were told that 20 to 30 percent of lumpectomies require a second lumpectomy or even a mastectomy.  The mammogram shows DCIS in about 25 to 35 percent of the breast.  My wife realizes that there is a ten percent chance that radiation will be necessary.  I hope this is helpful.  I will read your thread to see how things are going.  Good luck.
