contact breast forms

What is the general consensus about wearing a "contact breast form"?  The ads say they move with you but I have only seen one comment on a blog.  It complained about losing the adhesiveness within 2 months.  Is that what happens?  I would hope thay they would last longer than that!

My Amoena Classic Contact has kept its adhesivness for several years BUT I can only use it in cooler weather.  Otherwise I sweat under the form and moisture makes it lose its stickiness.  Since I live in a warm, humid climate that limits its usefulness for me.  In general, I feel more comfortable in a standard mastectomy bra with a pocket for the prothesis.  I totally forget I'm wearing it.  With the adhesive form, sometimes I don't feel it, and other times it seems to pull on my skin all day.  With that said, I like to wear the adhesive form when I'm wearing a camisole or anything that I feel might be more revealing.  So it does have a place in my "wardrobe."  just not as my one and only prosthesis.

I have only just started using these (couple of months) and am delighted with them. I think it is crucially important to follow the guidelines regarding their care and go through all the cleaning routines quite diligently.

I live in the UK so excessive humidity isn't a factor for us - but I do get bad hot flushes and have not had any problem at all with adhesion. I have had a bilateral MX and am pleased to have been able to choose very small prostheses. I wear them without a bra - that is how confident I am with them. I use Contact Light.

Psychologically they have realy boosted my confidence. Most of the time I wear nothing at all but for certain clothing - especially the summer - I feel the need to wear prostheses. Having a breast feel part of my body again (rather than shoved inside a bra)  is quite extraordinary.

Give them a go - they are expensive but if you don't like the contact element you can always apply the cover and use them as a normal prosthesis too.
