Out, Damn Soreness

I had a biopsy last Oct. performed by a new resident with a lot of trauma/digging around in the area. From their comments, I don't believe they were certain they had found the suspicious area; biopsy results were neg., thank the Goddesses. By March 2011, a knot had formed and ultrasound w. annual mammo confirmed tissue had encapsulated the marker. Today, I noticed that site is very sore, painful actually, and the knot is approx. twice as large. My whole upper body aches with that flulike feeling. This is almost a year post-biopsy. Anyone with experience? Ideas? Help?

Molly

YIKES!  Could it be infected?  I'd make an appt with doc, that definitely doesn't seem right.

Just emailed my onc. He advised to go to Urgent Care or ER to be assessed for mastitis. His NP will schedule followup at Duke with US and possibly MRI to see what is going on at the biopsy site. I asked for referral to an endocrinologist for the osteoporosis and low Vit d and she'll schedule that as well...so back to Durham in the next few weeks. This infection feeling is yuck...I've slept almost nonstop for 2 days , headachy

and lost all my dinner last evening.
