Chicago Area BC'ers Help Each Other

Hello to all of my Chicago-area BC sisters (and brothers!).  I was diagnosed in April 2010. I've been through two surgeries, chemo, and am now on Aromasin (after not doing too well on Arimidex). At the moment I am waiting for news about some recent bloodwork that showed elevated live enzymes, monocytes, etc.  My initial reason for starting this thread is that I'm not extremely happy with my current oncologist.  He's a fine doctor, but I just don't think our styles match very well.  And as I'm facing the possibility of mets to the liver, I am becoming more and more covinced that I should find a new oncologist.  I live in a western suburb of Chicago, am familiar and comfortable in the city, and willing to commute there.

Then I thought, hey, I probably wouldn't even be able to guess how many women (and men!) in the Chicago area who are fighting breast cancer, and I'm sure there are many, many things we could share with each other that would be relevent and helpful as we move along this journey. We could even have get-togethers if we wanted to.

So if you live in or around Chicago, and you're interested in this, please join in and introduce yourself!

I just moved here. The Illinois thread has tons of Chicago bc ladies and has a get together planned. Check out that thread. I just started hanging out on that thread and the ladies have been very helpful. I just selected a new med onc at Northwester and don't have my first appt for two weeks so I can't provide much feedback.
