2 Years Ago Today
2 years ago on this date I got that dreaded news we all never wanted to hear. What a journey it's been----and I only wish I had found this site and you INCREDIBLE women (and men) sooner (I didn't join till January of '10)! You all have been there with me through some of my worst moments and helped carry me through to the other side and retain my sanity through it all. I don't know what I would have done without you!
I am living a bit more at peace each day, trying not to freak out at EVERY new ache or pain that I develop and would say predominately I don't dwell on my breast cancer every waking moment. There actually are days when I completely forget about it believe it or not! So for all you new ladies here my wish is that can give you hope, that things really DO get better.
What does bother me, however, is how every time I turn around another woman I know (and of course ones I do not) has to suffer needlessly from this crappy disease; and some don't make it. There HAS GOT to be a cure out there and I hope and pray that all of us here might live to see the day when that is a reality.
So big ginormous humungus hugs to each and every one of you lovely ladies that have touched my life. I love you all!
Sharon

Congratulations! I am encouraged and inspired by women like you. I look forward to the day when BC does not consume every waking moment. I'm not there yet, but I know I will get there soon.

Peace after BC is a beautiful thing, I'm glad you have found it because you deserve it girly! Congrats on 2 years and thanks for posting.

Congratulations, Sharon, and thank you for the wonderful post!

Sharon,
Yeah! ! I am so happy you are having peace in your life. You and I are so similar in our dx and time frame. I was dx 2 years ago in sept. It is getting better everyday. I don't wake up with that panic every morning anymore, and I too go long streches without even thinking about bc!!
I too am so grateful to you, and all the beautiful women and men on our stage III site!!
Love to you all, lets all grow old together!!!!

I think I finally reached a "peace-like" place at about 2 years, too. I wouldn't say that I'm at peace that it won't come back--it's more like an acceptance that what will be, will be. If that makes sense. . .

Congrats! sounds like you are in a better place every day.

No Sherri et al,
I am inspired by YOU every single day I visit this site. I truly don't know what I'd do w/out you!
Love,
Sharon
