I think I could do the 2nd?  Need to check with the hubby, I map quested it and it looks like its about an hour away or so.  Not too far of a drive, I am sure he would be game to take the boys on his own for the day.

And my DH is in the same golf tournament with Joyce's DH, so I'm going to have a quiet day, too!  That's probably a good thing because Taxol has sort of kicked my butt and I am rather tired.  Slept 8 hours again last night, that's 2 nights in a row and a blessed miracle!  And I took a nap yesterday afternoon, so I guess this old body is finally conceding to the need for sleep!

OK, ladies.  I am going to try and make reservations for 4 at Pickity Place for October 2nd.  Laurie - it's about an hour for us, too.  But it's a pleasant drive, really.  And the foliage should be in living color!

I had a night off from cooking too!   But I really haven't cooked since surgery 4 weeks ago other than taking something out of the freezer and heating it up or boiling pasta.  We had pizza.  It was good.  I do love my pizza.  Hope I'm not deluding myself thinking it's somewhat healthy.  Especially if you get veggies on it.  Right?

Sorry the taxol se's, Michelle.  I think the third one hit me the hardest.

I really wish I lived closer and could make it.  A drive looking at the foliage and then a nice dinner with some bc friends sounds great.  I really enjoyed the dinner with ChrissyB in NJ last week.  And I didn't even really "know" any of those ladies from the threads.  Have a great time all!  And enjoy your son's B-Day party too Laurie.  My DD turns 14 tomorrow.  She wanted her whole room made over for a present.  Yikes!  She is settling for a new bed and repainting the pink and green walls to beige.  I loved those pink and green walls.  And she only picked that 3 years ago.  What a difference between 11 and 14.  Enjoy the time while they're young Laurie.  It goes so quickly.  I am enjoying this age too, but do miss the young years.  Apparently, the rest of the family does too.  DD has been asking for a baby brother/sister for years.  I told her can't do it any more, even got into a discussion of chemopause.  And got into a very heavy discussion with DH (inspired by BC I guess) about any regrets or greatest regret.  He wished we had had another child.  That really surprised me.  We have 3, ages 22, 20 and soon to be 14.  He's 50 and I'm 48.  I think he should have said that awhile ago.

Oh how I wished I lived closer also.  we will be doing a road trip to Ohio to visit my DS who is in his last year of college there.  we like to take in a football game and take him out to dinner.  they have the most amzing hotel there made out of grain silos, bought by the college and made into a hotel....alll the rooms are round of course and they make the most amazing oatmeal for breakfast. (it was the quaker oats grain silos)

Kay   I remember redoing the kids rooms at different stages...they grow so fast...but i love to decorate so it was always a win win situation for me and i was usually the instigator to change their rooms. 3 childen is such a wonderful family

Daughter is home from NYC and we had a shopping extravaganza yesterday...then grabbed DH from work for a nice lunch, had bbq chicken wraps...delicious!

Michelle   glad you are sleeping well...our bodies tell us what it needs, so must be you need to rest.. I think the cooler weather kind of sends us into that mode also...had to pull out the jeans last night and a jacket to go out  blah!!

Deb - I found you but it was in a very roundabout way...a Facebook page for a hospital.  I also found your name on Classmates.com...but when I copied and pasted your name (as you wrote it above) into the Facebook search box, it didn't find you...LOL!   Anyways, I sent you a Friend request.

LOL Joyce, you are so right!  We will definitely need to meet for dinner.  We (note the word "we") did make chicken carciofi tonight.  He did whatever I told him to do...hmmm...I might need a few more favors before the night is over.  After all, they were gone for 10 hours!!!  Right now he wants to change the tv channel so bad he can hardly stand it.  But I am watching the Sox game and he can't control the remote until this game is finished.  Hehehe...such power I have tonight!

Michelle and Joyce your husbands crack me up!  Mine is soooo similar it's eerie.  My husband is "working" at the Highland Games in Lincoln for the weekend.  He works for a Busweiser distributor, so beer is his job.  He and a bunch of buddies from work get put up in an awesome condo and basically make sure that the beer never stops flowing. It's half work and half party time for them.  He just called to check in on me to see if the boys were asleep ok and it sounded like a frat house in the back ground.   Although he claims he stayed up too late last night and is going to head to bed early tonight, yha right!

I'm going to see if I can find a good movie to watch and if not I know my book is good.  I haven't had dinner as of yet and am thinking it is going to be a sandwich.  I am actually craving the baloney I bought the other day.  Not the dinner of champions but ohwell, it is almost 9, it's at least something.

Even though I'm from Mass., I'll be joining you NH ladies for lunch on the 2nd. Thanks Joyce for the invite. Tonight was my night for dinner with Dad (92 years old). Instead of going out to eat, I've been bringing food in. Although, I can cook, I typically don't. I usually pick up some italian prepared food. Spinelli's a local bakery and function hall has great stuff. Tonight I picked up a container of their sausage cacciatore. I cooked up some penne pasta and added a little extra homemade sauce (made by another local bakery) and Dad loved it. He doesn't eat much, but he said it was good. Then served him a cannolli and a cup of coffee in his easy chair (just like my mom used to) and he was a happy man.

Hauntie~I'm in MA also, Chelmsford.  I travel to Winchester for my Onc and at the Breast Care Center in Woburn for my mamos.

Thanks Michelle, we are really close.  She and I worked at the same company for a long time then she moved to Bermuda to be with her boyfriend.  She lived in Merramack NH and still owns her house, that she rent now.  DH and I are going to visit them for Christmas.  Rebekah will be here on my birthday and Thanksgiving.

Welcome, Hauntie!  I look forward to meeting you in October!

My DH holds on to the "main" remote even when he's snoring!  But we have the Comcast one, too.  And if push comes to shove, I can reprogram the DVR from my laptop.  I really do have superpowers Cool

Funny stories on all the DH's What is it with men and there remotes? That is why i watch tv in the bedroom, the shows he watches drives me nuts, like judge judy, its worse than finger nails on a black board for me, reruns of gilligans island, (gag) lavorne and shirley (really?)  i like the girly, glirl shows ones that make you cry, LOL!

Im on Facebook too,, michelle and kay are on mine, any one else can also find me at Debbie louise mcpherson-  Had to put in my middle name because there are tons of debbie mcphersons. The picture i have is from about13- 15 years ago, cant d/l new pics even though i have a new laptop, been having problems with it, but my friends in kentucky took lots of pictures and are going to be sending them to my email so i can post them.

All kinds of activites were suppose to be going on here in town but it pretty much got rained out except the "Surf city car show" at the casino, walked around that for awhile and decided, what the heck, i will go inside and play 40. in the slots, was there for about 7 hours playing the penny machines, since DH was working there until midnight tonight, ended up walking out with about 370,oo (Woo-hoo)  It sure is tiring to have fun!
