    Hi everyone

It seems I do well for a short time and then get very panicky and scared all over again. Maybe it's the 2 year anniversary rearing its head. But I have a pimple on my cancer side, somewhat under my arm, just on the edge of my breast. It is red and raised. I always thought a reoccurence was a lump under the skin and I regurally check for that. But I do remember reading that pimples were issues too. Why? Wouldn't that mean metastisis? Isn't that a big jump from Stage 0 to mets? Wouldn't a have to develop a lump first? Thank you for being such a supportive forum.

Hi Annie,  I don't know about this and find I keep learning more and more.  Under the DCIS topic, on August 25th suze1229 mentioned that she had a recurrance and it came in the form of a rash under her arm.  So keep an eye on it and please let us know what, if anything, happens with it.  OK, now on the other hand, I too am just past my two year surprise dx of DCIS and I swear, with every little bump, pain,  etc my mind immediately jumps to the worse case scenario; ugh! My own mind is playing games with me. So here's hoping you just have pimples popping up.

Thanks for your reply. I actually went to see my breast cnacer sugeon because it was weighing too heavy on my mind. She says that since there is no breast tissue left after a mastectomy, if cancer were to recur, it may do so in the skin as bumps. She didn't say rash. But on the brighter side, she did say that what I currently have appears to be just a pimple as it appears to have a head to it. But my mind isn't really set at ease, since she added that if it didn't go away in a wek, she would biopsy it. I know I'm complaining too much, but I just want to feel normal.

YOU ARE NOT COMPLAINING TOO MUCH....sorry to yell but I really, really feel we have to be our own watchdogs. And, what I've learned now from you, and from suze1229, is that we have to watch out for our skin. No one in the medical field mentioned that to me. So thank you for sharing. Once again, I hope you are getting a pimple attack and that's all.  Hey, this could almost go into the "You know you're a cancer patient when" .....pimples are a good thing!

I smiled when I read your post.  This past winter I got out of the shower and felt some sort of lump on my side, under my arm pit.  I could not get a good look at it, not even using the mirror.  I pushed and felt that thing all day.  My husband came home from work and before he could even say hi I pulled my shirt up and said what the hell is this?

He looked at me kind of confused, "a zit?"  are you sure???  He says, I know what a zit looks like.  I told him I thought it was a recurrence or something.  He smiled and said, nope just put some zit cream on it.  Love that guy, he never thought I was nuts.

    We are all paranoid :)

I've read that cancer can recur looking like a red bug bite. I had one on my breast last week.  I was freaking out until I broke out in a few different places...and then realized it was due to changing my soap, it caused me to break out. It is clearing up.

I think it is better to be safe then sorry and if we have questions, we should call.

Hi everyone. Thanks for all your support. The pimple did go away, but now I seem to notice EVERY slightly raised bump that appears on my breast cancer side. Oh to be a normal woman again.
