Oklahoma girls (or guys) out there?

Barbara,
Finally made it out there last weekend...it was packed with folks, but I got to walk around a bit and thought they did a good job on it...
The food court was disappointing though...only one yogurt place and 2 restaurants going and the lines were huge...there is also a Smashburger and Auntie Anne's not in the food court, but also so busy...take some snacks with you when you go!
Let me know what you think when you go!
Have a great weekend!

I live close by so I have been a couple of times. I found several tops and a gorgeous pair of indigo jeggings at DressBarn (my first experience with this store) and very cool leggings from DNKY. The leggings were the first ones I have ever owned in my life but with a 50+ lb weight loss, they really do look nice as Iong as I pair them with a tunic or longer top. I also found a couple of small things from Kitchen Collection & Corning/Corelle. I agree the food court was disappointing. Standing outside in the sun and heat for Smashburger was totally out of the question. Hope your weekend is off to a great start.

Congrats on the weight loss! How exciting for you! Wish I could do that too! I went into DKNY as well, but nothing fits me there...I look at the jewelry at those stores though! I walked by DressBarn as well, but didn't stop in. I will have to do that! I found a couple of things at the kitchen store and a couple of things from the Gap. How often do you go?

I go right by it coming and going for the weekly shopping trip so alot of Saturdays. It would be pretty rare for me to go any other day.

Hi Ladies,
I had my bi-later DIEP 2 weeks ago today! I am doing well!
The doctor I am is Dr. A Bajaj in Oklahoma City, she really is awesome!
I only have one drain left (had 6) but it won't be coming out tomorrow, maybe on Friday. I have to go twice a week until they are all out.
The flaps look really awesome! We really tried to not get our expectations up too high as the first surgery to get them moved & to survive. Since I have so much radiation damage on the right she said they wouldn't look the same. But they both look good! I think in stage II a little lipo on the left & I should be good to go!
The rad side is a little grumpy, she said it would be. Over all it's not bad except for about 2" along the bottom. I'll see what she has to say about it tomorrow.
Barb, I'm glad you are getting your "booblets" taken care of. I didn't have skin sparing but I can't imagine why anyone would do such a thing.
-
MrsNJBand: Sounds as if you are coming along really well. So am I to understand that you will be done after Stage II? Generally, what kind of a timeline are you on?
I found out from the PS that what I have leftover is really due to being so huge before mx, 40M cup size and spilling out of that. He said I really didn't have skin sparing at all. I felt so much better after our meeting as I found out the BS did the very best she could with what she had to work with. There were two ways to fix this, the first to extend the original scars clear down below the breast bone creating a gigantic v-shaped scar all the way from armpit to armpit and extending below a bra band onto the abdomen. This is NOT the recommended solution and in fact he said if that was done and I had wanted recon, he would have been really unhappy. The recommended solution is to create T-shaped scars. The T cross bar would be an elliptical cut that would encompass the dog ears and then when it is sewed together, it would lay flat. The cross bars would lay on an angle, closer at the top and further away at the bottom. Has alot to do with the planes & direction. From reading on the plastic surgery sites, this does appear to be the correct solution and is the one he recommends.
My avatar was taken last Christmas and yes as always I am perfectly flat in the picture. Look quick because I suspect that I will not leave that avatar up very long.

Maybe we can sometime meet somewhere downtown, like let's say the Paseo? There is a pizza place there that is awesome, and then we could go around shopping/window shopping in that area.
-
Day: I would love to do that on a weekend.
The State Fair starts tomorrow. I plan to go sometime on the weekends. Is anyone else planning to go and would you have any interest in meeting up?
Barbara
-
We are taking my nephew to the state fair on Sunday...that should be fun! I really do love state fair time!
Pizza is always a good idea too though...
Either way, I'm pretty open if anyone else is (and as long as my hubby hasn't committed me to something else)...I'm in Edmond, but I don't mind driving...
Tori
-
Tori: I think it would be fun to meet at the Fair, perhaps at a break time for food or for shopping in the buildings. Whatever. I just need to stay out of the direct sun.
Anyone else?
Barb
-
Unfortunately I cant' go to the State Fair. I am one of the organizers of the Pagan Pride Day Festival that will be in Norman, Saturday the 17th, so you can imagine the day before I will be real busy wrapping things up and the day after will be probably totally pooped out.
I hope you guys have a lot of fun at the State Fair, and if you feel like, drop by at the Pagan Pride Day - ask any of the vendors there to point you to me.
-
Day: The State Fair is over 2 weekends. I always go a couple of times so if you decide to go the weekend of the 24th & 25th, let me know.
Barb
-
Oh then, I sure will!
-
I can't do the fair with you all this weekend, as I am going with my nephew and family...but, I can meet up for pizza or for something else during the week or maybe next weekend...
Just let me know what you all think....
Tori

Tori & Day: Sounds as if Day might be able to go to the Fair either the 24th or 25th. I had already planned to go one day on each of the two weekends and am pretty open as to either Sat. or Sun. Tori, would you have any interest in a second day at the Fair? As I have already purchased Fair tickets I would have to wait on the Paseo thing until after the Fair.
Tori, Have a great day on your Fair day with the family!!
Barb

I am afraid I will not be able to go this week-end. I have people coming over both Saturday and Sunday.
-
Day: No problem. Have a wonderful time with your guests.
Barb
-
I am sure I will, thank you.
The following week-end is also busy for me, I am one of the vendors in the O.P.E.R.A. metaphysical fair.
Maybe we can schedule something for the second week-end in October?
-
October works for me too! Any other ladies in the OKC area on this thread want to join as well?
Tori
-
I am still on board for a get together though the second weekend of Oct. is the OU vs Texas game and it is mid-day so that one for sure is out for me.
Barb
-
Where do you think we should go? Me and my best friend were going to Martin Park on the second week-end in October. It's a beautiful area and we can picnic there, the weather is just perfect for that.
I remind any of you who wants to come, I will be vending at the O.P.E.R.A. fair this week-end. O.P.E.R.A. stands for the Oklahoma Psychic Educational Research Association (I have the honor to be one of the members).
You might find it interesting, there are a lot of alternative healing people, and for this fair only, everybody will be able to get a free aura photo (with the new and elaborate computerized machines, not the old style ones). And quite a bit of interesting lectures as well.
-
Day: I will wait until closer to the date to commit for Martin Park. However, might try to make it out to the OPERA fair. Where is it (directions), entry fees and times?
Barb
-
The OPERA fair is at the India Shriner Temple, 3601 NW 36th (there's a big statue in front of the building). It's a between Portland and Lake Hefner Parkway.
Hours are: Saturday Oct. 1st, 10 am-6pm, and Sunday Oct 2nd, 12 pm-6 pm. It's free entrance.
For the second weekend, I hope it will still be in the upper 70's lower 80's. If not, we might go either to a museum or to the Myriad Gardens. Does that sound good?
-
Day: I do plan to come out and look forward to meeting you. I understand you will be busy and so will keep it short.
-
here at the Opera fair with Starak, chatting and having a good time!
-
Day was a such a joy to meet and I thoroughly enjoyed our chat. A couple of surprising things I learned is she is not only a sweet lady but an avid gardener and an amazing artist!!
-
We'll have to see how the weather is two weeks from now. I think this Sunday me and my friend will go to Myriad Gardens.
I enjoyed a lot meeting you! Looking forward for next time!
Big hugs
-
Hi Day: The rest of this month is not looking good for me and then there is the surgery that I am hoping to have scheduled the end of the month or beginning of next. Hoping life settles out after that.
Barbara
-
Oh, you just take care of all you need to take care of! there is plenty of time to do everything else, you NEED to have that surgery, if just for your peace of mind! Give me a holler when it's decided when, if you need more moral support, I will be glad to come and be with you! Besides, I've been having so many surgeries in that hospital in the last two years I know everybody by their first names! (joking of course, haha).
Anyway, what do you ladies think of this rain? It is soooooooo nice, and so steady, my garden is all happy! well my surgeries scars hurt a little, but it's worth it for such a rain!
-
I LOVE this rain! We needed it so badly, didnt' we? Although, all my Halloween decorations are soaked now! :P
Enjoy the rest of your weekend all!
