How do I stop being mad??

I was diagnosed on 8/19.  I met with my surgeon on 8/25.  I had an MRi that same day and was scheduled for my surgery on 9/8.  They postponed my surgery at the final hour because the radiologist looked at my MRI scans on 9/7 and noitced something else that she wanted to biopsy.  That came back benign, thankfully, and now my surgery has been rescheduled to 9/23.  I know that it isn't THAT long to wait....but I had everything lined up, the oncologist, a seminar, a root canal, time off at work, and now I have to start all over.  I am just so aggravated, and I am in a funk that I just can't seem to shake!  HELP!

    Vanlex,

    You look at the little things. Be thankful what they wanted to look at was benign - you might otherwise be facing a few months of chemo before surgery.

    I wish I could tell you how not to be mad. I've been frustrated because my timetable has gone on so long - diagnosed 8/16, still no surgery scheduled. There was a wait for the brca test, and then checking with a few other doctors (not for a second opinion per se, but to find the doctors I felt best with). Now finally it looks like surgery in the next 3-4 weeks.

    Hang in there and vent all you want on these threads. Do you have friends/acquaintances who have been through this? I'm finding that to be the best thing for my sanity.

    I am sorry to hear both of you had to join the club (where no one joins voluntarily).  You will get mad, sad and about every other emotion.  It's all right to be mad.  Not sure you ever get completely over it but rather just learn to deal with it.  

    Rachel - you are correct.  I found it extremely helpful that I had a friend that had gone thru BC two yrs before I was DX.  That became a great source of support.  I did not know about this site during tx but this is also a great source of knowledge and support.

    well, I guess what I needed was time, because I think I am over it now.  just playing the waiting game now.

    Gack!  No fun waiting, AT ALL!  I ended up waiting 7 weeks for my surgery (b/c I wanted to go to Johns Hopkins) and I thought it would NEVER get here.  With your situation I can totally understand being mad, sad, frustrated, etc.  It takes more control away from you which once you get this behind your belt you will feel better about.

    I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. But we're always here for you to vent when needed. I hit my first insurance pre-certification snag which will put off a CT scan for a few days, so I had a real low point this evening. Urgh. But we get back up swinging.

    I guess I was lucky........I was diagnosed on FEb. 15th, surgeon same day........biopsied on the21st. of Feb, saw a Mo, and a RO on the 25th, and had surgery on March 14th............ started Rad on April 25th, and finished on June 15th................now I am taking Femara, and getting over the Rad SE's which are not bad..............fatigue is probably the worst one.............but I was unlucky and got  LE, so all did not go well.............wishing you all luck...................just take it a day at a time..............can't do much more then that.
