makmak - LOL LOL LOL Gotcha! And btw...you look FAB!
Adey - Let's get together soon and scrap together! LOL
LogoLago - I need one of those for my dh too! Sniff, sniff!
-
Gabby is sooo very cute! And I love makmak's picture with her scrapbook.
Lago - that story is so fully - yes, it is a good thing that we wore jeans. How did your hubby like the cigarette?
-
OMG -- that is one absolutely adorable baby!
-
meant to say "funny" not "fully" - typing faster than thinking
-
Gabby is sooo cute. Gee I wonder how that happened.

DH seems to be enjoying the stuffed smoke a lot. I was at the computer and he started smacking me with it… in a fun way not an abusive way if you know what I mean.
-
LogoLago - LMBO! Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
-
Lago - it sounds like that stuffed smoke is become a family pet :-)
-
Omg....how cute is gabby??? I love her...what a doll!!!! She's adorable!!!
LMBO at Lago's stuffed cigarette....ha ha....when I first saw the pic I was like "what the H is that?". I love it's "hair".
So, I might wake up tomorrow with less hair huh? When I left my grandma tonight I said sarcastically I was going home to "count my hairs". She didn't find it as funny as me??? If it's clumping out of my head in the morning than I'm having Naturally Yours buzz it for sure..... Anyone know if I can bring "Tina" and "cousin It" in for a true fitting with them or will they be disgusted I bring in an outside wig?? -
I bet they will let you bring it in but they will charge you for styling it. I doubt they will be offended. Geez you really think they are going to beat up a woman going through chemo with breast cancer? They do that and the word will spread.
Seriously they are pretty nice over there and very helpful.
-
Good point.... And I have a big mouth! :0) I'm good with her charging me... They just need some professional help!

Hi Ladies,
I'm new to posting, but have been reading since 2009 when I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. I've been through a double mascetomy, chemo, and radiation, and finally my exhcange surgery in summer 2010. I had been living in Indianapolis and then Missouri for internship throughout all of this, so my care was pretty much centralized to the IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. I'm now living in Chicago and plan to be here for the forseeable future- I'm wondering if you guys could offer me any insight into the cancer centers here in Chicago- I've just barely started looking into the big ones- Northwestern, University of Chicago, etc. Any thoughts about any of these and/or information you could offer me that would help make my decision easier? I'm a bit apprehensive about leaving my oncology team at IU,as I'm sure you all can imagine, I've become very close to them. But living in Chicago full-time now, it doesn't seem to make much sense to continue my care at IU. Any insight anyone has to offer would be great and highly appreciated! Thanks so much, ladies. I hope you are all doing well.
Take good care,
Becca

Hi Becca - Welcome to Illinois. All my doctors are at Northwestern. But I live and work downtown so Northwestern is quite convenient for me.
-
I took an extra wig with me to Naturally Yours on the day of my fitting, and they were happy to trim it up and fit it properly for me. No extra charge, have no idea if that is customary or they were just being extra nice.

Oh, I just have to share. My son got the male lead in his middle school drama today. Pretty impressive isn't it?
When I picked him up at drama club auditions on Friday.... literally forty girls, and my son. Is it the love of the theater that is drawing him to this activity? Hmmmm....
-
I'm sorry I've been so missing in action lately- Life is good and busy. Which is wonderful when all is said and done. Almost 5 years out and my "new normal" is a blessed and full life.
Just had to stop in and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jackie. Thank you for being our quote queen and daily inspiration!

Healing vibes and best wishes to all who are in treatment. I hope to meet a lot of you at the Chicago dinner!
-
Good morning all and.......

-
Happy Birthday Jackie
-
YAY, Happy Birthday Jackie!!!!! Have a wonderful day!
Hi janclare....another inspiration 5 years out!!!
I LOVE hearing all the women living and loving life way past BC, it helps me get through my chemo days.... That there IS life after chemo!!! -
Yes there is!
-
"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom."
Marcel Proust -
Happy Birthday Dear Jackie!
You are the best!
-
Illinois Lady that quote reminds me of all of you ladies on bc.org! I like it!
-
I have to figure out how to put creative pictures here for our birthday girls! Those cakes are beautiful.
Gabby could win "Cutest Baby Girl" award. I love her outfit. Marina, you look fabulous...ever so elegant!
Welcome Becca! All my work was with Evanston. We are a blend of very new people and some very not so new people. A number of us are five years and more out, yet there are a number of women who are just now starting the whole journey, so we are a nice mix of women, ages, stages, and the rest. Evanston was great for me, I was on an HMO so I did have fewer options. Living in a great city like Chicago, HMOs work quite nicely as there are so many options. What sort of internship are you serving?
Congratulations to yourr son, Lisa. I love theater myself and love seeing kids get involved! Very wholesome activity with lots of camaraderie.
Waving to WendyTY. I wish so we lived closer so I could stop by and give you a REAL hug!
Have fun today!
Susan

What a wonderful way to get up this morning and find so many pretty cakes and all the birthday tributes. Friends are fantastic......and though I may be 65, I sure don't feel it. My best birthday ever was when I found all of you here and my fortune is that I had the good sense to come in and stay. You all help make my world a bright and cheery place and I am humbled today and always.
I'm never going to change this channel.
Hugs along with much love,
Jackie

Welcome Becca -- almost forgot my manners....the few that I have.
Marina.....you and Gabby....don't need to say more.
Jenn...gotta have some rain if we want to get a rainbow. Yours will come. Adey is right.
Lisa..wow !!
Hugs, Jackie
-
Oh she is too cute!
-
Thanks everyone for all the nice comments.. though a small correction... She is ONE of my prides and joys.. the other two are just as wonderful.. just not as cute.. LOL...
Happy HAPPY Birthday Jackie!! all the very best wishes!!
My last day before starting next tx cycle.. so going out for lunch and some grocery shopping.. loving this weather!!
Welcome to Becca.. I actually go to Indy to consult with Dr S. will be going in a week!! I have the same Dr's as Zap.. but several girls will jump on to tell you about Rush.. I just went there for another opinion and I think you may like it.. it has the same 'feel' to me as Indy..
-
Becca I sent you a PM with info about Rush
-
Welcome Hansen. I am btw 2 hospitals. I was treated at NWM, and had my BMX and my PSs are out of there. However, my MO is out of Evanston. If I would have had to have had radiation, I would have had my RO out of Rush. I wanted to work with who I felt was the best match for me, where they worked out of was not a deciding factor for me.
PM me if you are interested in recommendations.
-
So....for jackie's birthday I decided to celebrate by a nice new "GI Jane" buzz cut...... It's almost all gone ladies and I'm okay.....
Welcome to becca!!!
my onc is at Rush.... Love her!
I'm sure one of the other girls told you who it is, all us Rush girls seem to have the same....if not PM me. :0)
