First Primary ER+, Second Primary Triple Negative

Hi,

I feel like the only one in the world with this problem. I had a lumpectomy for a 16mm grade 2/3 ER+ BC in 2009, followed by 4 rounds of AC and 30 RADS. Now in 2011 a 25mm grade 3 Triple Negative tumor was found right next to the scar tissue from my Lumectomy! I opted for a bi lateral mastectomy and am currently on Chemo. 6 rounds of Carboplatin and Taxotere. I can't have radiation again apparently and I don't know whether I'll go back on Arimidex for the original ER+ cancer. I feel alone and under treated and scared for my future. So much uncertainty.



Is there anyone else who was diagnosed with a new Primary BC but of a different type?

    Hi Deeay, I hope you you posted this in other areas of the site, too. If I remember correctly, I think I have seen this posted before, but not often. I am sorry I can not remember that I can not remember the thread. What a scarey messy maze to go through!! My thoughts go out to you...

    I'm a two timer with the hormone status being different. Mine was flipped from yours, I was triple negative the first go round, with 9 years separating the discovery of the 2 cancers. Second was ER+, same breast breast, so no more radiation for me either. Just the cancerous breast was removed, my choice, obviously. No chemo the second time, found it quite small, 7 mm. Post menopausal thanks to a hysterectomy, so doing Arimidex now.

    So nice to finally hear from someone! Thank you!

    I was on Arimidex after my first diagnosis and I wondered if I would go back on it after treatment for this triple negative one finishes. After reading your reply it seems I just might.

    You were lucky your tumor was so small second time around! I think you got the two cancers in the right order at least! :)
