Colorful gloves?
I am having a hard time finding gloves (not gauntlets) that are in a color other than beige. Is there a way to get colorful or patterned gloves? Thanks!

Would love to know the answer to this, too!

Suzanne, do you mean ready-made gloves, not custom?

Either one. I am probably looking at buying a custom one anyway, so that is not the issue. Thanks!
-
Suzanne, I see these are your first posts at bc.org, so a big welcome to you!
Sorry about your reason for being here, but glad you found us. There are several companies that offer colors in custom gloves:
Juzo
Barton-Carey
Gottfried
Bio-Concepts
Maybe others will chime in with any other companies they know about. You can check them all out here:
http://www.stepup-speakout.org/Lymphedema_garments.htmI think Farrow's microfine gloves come in beige, copper and black, but those are the only ready-mades I know of that aren't medical-beige. Anybody know of others? Thanks!
Hope that helps. Let us know what you decide on and how it goes. Be well!

I just know that when I attended the NLN conference, Juzo has a fall line of colors and a spring line of colors.
Welcome Suzanne.
I wear a custom Juzo and off the shelf Medi--medi just comes in beige, cinnamon and black--off the shelf.

Lymphadivas also has some really nice ones. I like the one that looks like tattoos and I'm not a tattoo gal =;0)

Hi, sewingnut!
The tattoo ones are amazing! I've seen them on a guy, and they looked for-real! Unfortunately Lymphedivas doesn't make gloves, just gauntlets. Hopefully someday they'll move into the glove business, but having to fit fingers means glove-making is much more challenging.
<Sigh!>
Be well,

Thanks everyone! I called Lymphedivas, and they told me the gloves are NOT available in colors or patterns. Only beige. Kira, did you actually see the gloves? I do not see them on the website.... Am i missing something? It's OK for me if it is custom....

Suzanne, Lymphadivas doesn't make gloves, only gauntlets.

Kira,
I should have been clearer in my question. What I meant to ask was whether you saw Juzo colored sleeves at the conference you mention. I can't find it on their website. Yes, unfortunately Lymphadivas does not make gloves--what a shame given how nice their stuff looks. Oh well. Thanks everyone!

OMG! The Lymphdiva tatoo sleeve is awesome. I wish I'd bought that (I got the black sleeve from Juzo and was so relieved to avoid beige. At first glance, it looks like I might be wearing a long sleeved t-shirt....er, only on one arm)

Suzanne, they had a big display of the colors, and all I can find on line is colored gauntlets. They came out with a cheaper glove, the 1102 I think, and I personally don't like it, but I'm sure they had it in tons of colors to match the dream sleeves.
Perhaps if you call lymphedemaproducts or bandagesplus and ask them, they'd know.
Sorry
They had this party for people at the conference and displayed all the colors, and I know they had a colored glove...

I'm stock with beige as well, because I wear a lighter sleeve and a heavy glove and they only come in beige.

I kinda like the beige. No, that's not quite right.
I mean, I've made my peace with the beige. I finally decided to look for clothes that go with it instead of fighting it. Today I'm wearing a white shirt that has thin stripes in orange, brown and beige, and it looks nice with my sleeves. Not sure whether that's a surrender or a step forward.

I have several black Juzo sleeves and gloves, I much prefer them. The beige look like you are trying to imitate skin color, poorly. The black look (to me and my hubby) more like I'm wearing it for something else, more of a fashion choice. And, teenagers often ask where they can get these cool black gloves.
