I know that today - 11th September - has a special meaning for the entire world, especially in the U.S.. I do feel for those who were affected and have utmost respect for the fallen heroes/heroines. But I would appreciate if everyone could take a moment to think of our country Japan as well. Half a year ago today, the world 5th strongest earthquake hit our country. 15,781 people died and 4,086 are still missing. Millions people are still suffering. My thoughts are with every single person who was affected and pray that every single life that was taken can make it home to their family. I can't even begin to image the sorrow of losing someone they really loved but not having anything to bury. Please pray that those who were left behind can find some closure and start to heal.

Thanks in advance,

Fumi

Fumi:  Thank you for reminding us (or in my case enlightening us) to this tragedy.  There are so many things that happen that seem unfair.  Someday we will all understand.  For now, my prayers are for all who are suffering and their families and friends who are left behind.

    Fumi,

I have been thinking about the tragedy in Japan, in part because of the numbers and in part because it continues.   As someone who lived near (less than 10 miles) from Three Mile Island in 1979, it may take years to learn the extent of the effects of radiation. My heart goes out to you and your countrymen and women.

    Fumi,

I have visited Japan more than once and loved every minute I spent there.  I met lovely and gentle people, ate wonderful food, and saw beautiful places.  I cannot imagine what the Japanese people have endured and I am heartsick at the loss and destruction.  Please know I remember often and hope and pray for the best for your country and its people.
