Peg so glad your brother did well and now can heal. I hope that his adjustment is not too terrible hard. -

Peg, thanks for the update on your brother. Hoping all continues to go well for him and that the pain lessens more every day.
Seems like last night was a mild party, except for all the hunks.... geez, I missed most of it! But am catching up this morning - sure brightened my day!!!

-
Paula - Darn, I went to bed and missed that eye candy. Better luck next time - LOL

Hi girls ! I hope everyone is doing well. WOW, lots of eye candy on here ~ woo HOO.
I am hanging in there with the broken leg. It is very hard to be so immobile.
Hoping everyone enjoys the weekend and reflects on 9/11 tomorrow. I cannot believe it has been 10 years. We are going to a Memorial tomorrow at our local FD, they have a piece of the World Trade Center there erected it is in the shape of a cross. Living in NY (thankfully not the City) hoping for a quiet uneventful day tomorrow.
HUGS GIRLS !

Took my computer to be worked on last monday and finally got it back today. So glad I am not using my old computer. But now I have to reload everything. The weather has finally been nice here in Texas and DH and I sat out side and and drank some wine. Have not done that in a while because it was just too HOT!!!
-
Hi all well went camping for a few days it was nice,But got home today and now I have a cold I never worried about what I could take until now.Just wondering what over the counter stuff you all have taken.I hope you all have a great week
-
momoftwo - Glad to hear you had a good time camping but sorry you ended up with a cold. I would call my MO and see what kind of OTC medications can be taken safely with Tamoxifen. If you go to the website drugs.com - I type in Tamoxifen interactions - you will see a rather large list of meds that are a no-no. Keep in mind, this is just one list - there are many more out there. Let us know what you find out.

Hello Ladies,
I'm 2 weeks into my 5 year Tamoxifen journey. So far things aren't too bad but I've noticed a rash like change that I don't know if I can blame on Tamoxifen. It started about a week ago where the skin across the back of my arms and shoulders felt bumpy like there was a rash, but it wasn't red. Today it's on the front of my shoulders/chest and a bit red and itchy. We finally have summer in the Northwest and it's been hot. I did spend today in a chlorine pool so I don't know if it's from the heat or a SE. It's actually more red under the strap of where my suit was on my shoulders. It's so hard to not take every little different thing I feel and ask myself "is this a SE?" Did anyone else develop a rash? I just looked at drugs.com and there is a SE listed but it's linked with hives and alergic reactions. I wouldn't consider this "severe" but I guess it's something to watch.
thank you for all the information. Lots of pages and I haven't been able to get through all of them.
Cindy

Any Texas ladies on here. Some of us are planning on getting together on Saturday, Oct 1st around 11:00 in San Antonio at the Spaghetti Warehouse. Please let Sagina or myself know so we can make reservations. We would love to have a good size group.
-
Blazerfan welcome to the thread. I have not heard of the rash but if it were me I would put a call in to my MO just to see.
-
well I found out I can take Chlor Tabs for my allergys I sure hope it works FAST
-
momoftwo - So do I. We have to be so careful these days.
-
So, finally, my hot flashes are lessening - initially when I started on 7/17/2011, I got like 15-20 a day and they were severe! Now I get maybe 7 a day! wahoo! But now I have some of the achiness... but it is not bad.... You all did not lie that the SEs lessen!
-
Just V for the achiness and joint pain my MO put me on liquid Glucosomine and Chrondroitin with MSM 2Tabl 2 times a day. It really helped. In fact I just stopped taking it and so far so good.
-
Welcome Cindy! I dont know about the rash. I just have really dry skin from the tamoxifen. Just like the others I would call your ONC and see whats going on. Good luck!
You are so luckey V that the hot flashes are letting up. Mine are still pretty bad at times. I take Effexr to decrease them It has worked some, but I am so ready to get off it. I am so tired of popping pills. I have never had to take anything stronger then an asprin and this sucks.
-
Paula - I hear ya on the popping pills - I feel like I have a pharmacy in my kitchen - this does really suck.
V - Glad to see you back - missed you.
-
Hey ladies hope you are all doing well and I miss ya all......
Cindy I never got any sort of rashes, but I swear I read that could be a SE....
Jo I want to fly down there and come too......so not fair!!!So there is always a problem with being healthy and I know most of you will get this......but over the last month I have increased my walks to 2 times a day and I now have planter fasciitis and a bone spur.....I now have to do all sort of physical therapy along with wearing a boot to bed.....you should have heard my husband when he saw the boot.....ha ha....so not funny, but the moral of my story is don't try to improve what was not broken.....no pun intended.......
Off to work out my kinks.....kiss kiss ladies!!!
-
Jo, wish I could join you all!!! During normal times, I would just jump in the car and make a solo road trip to join you, but these just "ain't normal times" so I will join you in spirit!
I am having such much better luck with tamoxifen now than I did in January/February. I have a feeling that all the SEs I was having were actually due to post-chemo "coasting" with increasing neuropathy and weakness, and possibly not the tammi at all. Wish someone had worked with me on that so I would have taken the tammi as my recurrence is strongly ER+. Am finally getting some relief with a new PCP and a very low dose of Effexor and a topical cream for my fingers. I am so much more optimistic about living and am getting my fighting spirit back to beat this BC enemy!
So tonight, it is hot again, had a small margarita with DH by the pool (he is an EXCELLENT cabana boy!) and just enjoyed the evening, sending love and hugs to all my BCO friends.

-
Linda - So glad to hear you are doing well. Haven't seen you post in a while. I do wish you could make our little get together - I know you will be there in spirit.
-
Hi ladies haven't been back here for quite a while.I have been on Tamox for over 2 years and all of a sudden the last two months my BP has been up.My family doctor wants me to go on a BP medication.I am going to wait and try and bring it down obn my own naturaly. But I am begining to think that the Tamox might be part of the problem. Anyone else notice this SE?
-
I see that there was a study done that showed no relation of BP changes to Tamoxifen. But I have not gained any weight, actually lost 10lbs and am still exercising at the gym. I guess its a possible SE from chemo or rads as well.? -
For several weeks now I have been having balance problems. A couple of weeks ago I saw my PCP about it, diagnosis peripheral neuropathy probably SE of tamoxifen. Because of the BC he ordered an MRI of my head as a precaution. Said he was sure it would be negative but wanted to be certain. It is scheduled for 2 pm today. I must have been repressing my anxieties because this morning I am terrified. I wasn't worried before. Don't know which worries me more, the process or the diagnosis.
-
((hugs))) chabba Goodluck with the MRI
-
Chabba good luck on the MRI hope everything turns out good. Breath deeply
-
Chabba.. good luck with the MRI. I had head issues as well dizzy balance issues and a CAT scan done in Nov and al lwas ok. Still feel unbalanced at times.. i think it is the Tam too! keep us posted.
