Anastrozole

Well I went to the Onco today and it went better than I thought.  I was sure I would be leaving there with a plan for chemo to shrink the tumor before a lumpectomy.  She instead put me on Anastrozole to shrink the tumor since it was ER +& PR +  at 100%.  She is pretty confident it will shrink the tumor within 3 months and we can do a lumpectomy.  I will only need chemo if the Onco type is high.  Rads of course will be needed after lumpectomy.  Any one familiar with this routine? Has anyone else used the Anastrozole to shrink the tumor before lumpectomy?

    HI Cindy, That is great news.  I have read that this can be done though I haven't met someone yet who did this tx routine.  I am sure someone will be along soon who can chime in.  Good luck to you. I am so happy that you may be able to qualify for less invasive surgery.

    I am sorry no one else has chimed in.  If its worth anything, I have read about doctors using this tx method for shrinking.  Have you done any research on this site or cancer.gov?
