Anyone try Penquin Cold Caps to reduce hair loss?

A friend recently went through some rough Chemo and used the Penguin Cold Cap and didn't lose her hair! I am waiting to get my biopsy to see if I have to also go through this journey but wanted to know just in case if anyone else has had success with this? I read on their website that they guarantee it 100%. I also read some news reports that puts the success at about 80%. Anyone else try it?

Hi beanpole, I used the caps..TCx4 chemo....huge success, 7 months PFC. There is a thread on here "Cold Cap Users Past and Present to save Hair"...search for it... Tons and tons of successes. Also visit Penguin Website and Also the Rapunzel Project (google to find)

Success depends on type of chemo, length of chemo ...and now types of caps... Most successes (that save most hair...most people thin) are with the Penguin Cold Caps.

    Hope it helps, Lisa

I too am going to try the cold caps!  I was wondering if any ladies are going through chemo in Knoxville Tennessee that want to try the cold caps.  I thought we could help each other out with putting them on.  I know when you use these you need some helpers to help you put them on securely.  I think success also depends on following all the protocol.

Good thoughts to all of you trying the Cold Caps!

I used the Penguin Cold Caps also, TCX6 chemo.  Also great success!

Very cold but I felt that it was worth it.  Helped me to feel like myself around my young kids...

There is a thread on cold caps under "Help Me Get Through Treatment". I think it is over 130 pages long containing lots of valuable info from past and present users.

I just finished TC x 4 2 weeks ago and used the Penguin Cold Caps. My hair is definitely thinner, but I am grateful to have kept my hair.

Yes, Penguin Cold Caps work! I had TC x4 and kept 90+% of my hair. Google "Penguin Cold Cap Good Morning America" and watch the segment that appeared on Tv last October. That's how I found out about PCC. And I thank the Lord every day! My oncologist is amazed and has referred 3 others to us. We've walked them through the process and all 3 have plenty of hair.

Must cool to correct temperature with dry ice. For me it was -32C degrees. And make sure cap is tight with Velcro straps. It works! Big hassle on days of chemo but a nice distraction and definitely worth it to me.

They worked for me too.  Just posted photos of my before, during and after on my blog.  Unless I tell someone, they have no idea I had chemo.
