mixed bag! my onc is very pleased becasue I have not had shrinkage before. several tumors have shrunk or arent identifiable. however some have grown. due to this she will keep the gemzar however add abraxane to the cocktail.

I really wasnt sure how to feel we talked at length. I feel good about it now but still wish this nightmare would go away.

    Hugs, Marie - so glad there was some shrinkage.

    I think that your response was absolutely appropriate - no one likes to be on the one hand - on the other hand, when we are talking about something so serious.

    It sounds like the abraxane is to hit the tumors that are not responsive to the gemzar, so you beat them all to a pulp. It's a good theory, and I would likely give it a try as well.

    What do I think - I think you are a wonderful human being, and I hate that we are having this conversation. But I am totally glad that you have an onc who is thinking outside the normal box for you

    I am jumping for joy at the shrinkage! THis is the first time this has happened on any drug so I feel like that is a definite GOOD thing!!

     Some of them growing is not a good thing, but I feel like adding the abraxane could be what you need. I am so so hopeful for this to be the right one.

    I think you're used to getting bad news by now so you don't want to get too excited. Which I totally get. Love you so much and cannot wait to see you in a few weeks!

    So glad that some of the tumors reacted, sorry that they all didn't get the msg that, "You aren't welcome here. GO AWAY!"

    Praying that you get a great response to the abraxane and the rest join in shrinking.

    Marie-I really think that adding in the abraxane is going to do wonders.  I have heard great things about it.  But also how one and one doesn't equal two.  that when you combine the right drugs, it's multiplies it's results.  When do you start?
