    I had no idea it was a simple as copy and paste from FB!  Well here's my nieces dress I posted about a while back...Now I'm crocheting a black shawl for my Halloween costume.

    I so wish I had the gift of "art" like so many of you...I'm a crafter and have to follow a pattern!

    GirlFriday, your crochetting is beautiful!  My grandmother did some of the most intricate work on doilies, doll clothes, lace, etc.  She used simple thread until she had a retinal detachment, then switched to yarn and continued to do her "fiber art" until she died.  She tried to teach me, and I understand it, but am too impatient to do it for very long.

    Back from four days in the northern woods for the holiday weekend. Rain and cool, with 7 grandchildren 9 and under in the house.WOW!

    Linda...I love this picture above. Nice composition.

    Lisa...Thank you! I did the callas but was not happy. Maybe I'll find a different one of Callas. I love them.

    Barb1958...The 300 paintings were of anything you wanted to paint. We were given canvases, so the buyer could put on there own frame. I paint on watercolor paper and my art needs to be matted and framed which I do myself. I sign every piece in the lower corners and in the back I have a copy- righted disclaimer with all the info on the painting. This includes name, size, original watercolor , My name and phone number. That makes it complete.

    Isin't it great? she makes everything so transparent and simple. You will learn a lot about mixing colors with a limited pallet.

    Socallisa...that is the picture I painted and couldn't get it to look as beautiful as your photo.:(

    Lovely Lisa.  I even figured out how to get my canon color printer to work.  When you refill the cartridges, which saves a FORTUNE, the printer won't recognize the ink is full - so you have to keep hitting the "reset" button.  But it's WORTH it.  These inks are sold in 8 oz bottles - and save so much money rather than buying new cartridges.

    LOVE YOUR PICTURES!!!!  Do you have any moonflowers?  have you ever smelled a moonflower- they are divine!

    love moonflowers fantastic smell. I planted them a couple of years ago and they did not come back this years. I will probably plant some next spring.  Great calla lilly photo Lisa.

    Some flowers come up every 2 years pil, no one told me that and I threw out my foxglove. Doi! How does the plant know when the 2 years are up? Never smelt a moonflower, I'm gonna have to google that to see the pic. Won't be able to smell it tho --

    Huh, I think moon flowers are blooming all OVER my neighbourhood! Now, how do I get up close enough to smell them without scaring the old people on the porch?

    Barb.... lol maybe you should just go up to the house and ask if you can sniff their flowers. LOL

    I still have some seeds from when I bought them from heritage seeds which is bakers creek.

    Moonflowers are annuals.  If you get flowers, and they are pollinated, you should get 3 or 4 seeds per pod, you have to wait until they are VERY BROWN & DRY - hopefully b4 the frost, cuz frost will zap/killl the seeds.  I especially love that the flower blooms ONLY for one night, I have even sat & watched one open, takes about an hour. The smell is sweetest in WARM weather, so here in Western MA - the growing season is too short to have them.  A friend with a "hoop house" has them, and also love that if you pick the flower, it quickly wilts, dies.

    Barb - go over and ASK if they are moonfowers - HUGE HUGE HUGE white, almost translucent - and if they're growing them - they have to nurture the seeds to get them - and I'll bet they'll be THRILLED to have you sniff with them.

    SunflowerM.....paint some moon flowers. Use your expertise from the Jean Dobie book. You should be inspired by now.Last week I posted a painting of my moon flowers from my garden.

    Pil.....I posted it on September 1st. I've had to paint many deceased dogs too....but people usually want them on frosted ornaments. Kinda fun.

    My niece takes great photos with her phone too! She has hundreds of 'apps' that give different effects. Cheating, I say!!!!! hehehehehehehe

    Hi, all you creative women!!  So good to see your work.  I've got to figure out how to take a picture and then post.  I have a fancyschmancy Canon SLR digital - to replace my beloved Olympus OM2 film which I've used sonce 1978, and I sure do NOT like the learning curve ;(

    But I'm thrilled I got into all 3 art classes I wanted for the next year. Drawing, and Botanical Art and Painting.  No one teaches "waterecolor" , but I've got the great books Artsee mentioned, and plan to follow the lesson plans in one of them.

    Sunflowers, I HATED doing the 'film to digital' transition and still fight my Nikon. BUT I do love getting the pic right away so I know when I've got the 'money shot'!!!! I've saved a TON on developing too! I don't 'tweak' my pics with Photoshop or anything. I pride myself on a clean shot and just cropping.

    Well said Barb....I do the same. I have Photoshop and never use it outside of cropping. Futzing with the colors just makes it look kind of unrealistic I think. Gets grainy too.

    Sunflower...You mean you have to wait till next year to get into an art class? Not much opportunity where you live? I'm doing a one week watercolor with Bridget Austin starting Oct. 9th.It's in a northern retreat time atmosphere. It's so beautiful with all the woods, the colors should be wonderful...maybe not 'peak' but starting of orange and reds for sure. Look her up on the Web. She is a great artist. I was 4th on a waiting list in March and they called that I got in about 4 weeks ago. I'm soooo looking forward to it.
