    Hi there,

My sciatica TOTALLY bothered me during rads.  I did a bunch of stretches to help, but I honestly think the rads were aggravating it.  It was also aggravated by all the stuff that used to aggravate it- wearing high heels, driving long distances, etc.  My onc was going to do a scan if it didn't clear up, but it went away.  It took longer than usual, though, but that was probably because I did chemo.  But it was just sciatica - whew!  I was FREAKING out, so I understand where you are coming from.

Wow, I really used the word "aggravate" a lot in that last post.  LOL.  I know other words, I swear!

Having a bad back and a breast cancer history is a recipe for out-of-control hypochondria. I've struggled with this issue for five years now and had an embarrassing number of MRIs to quell my fears. My guess (easy to tell someone else!) is, it's probably sciatica.

HEY YOU Tongue out  Has the pain been constant for a while now?  I remember you mentioning this quite some time ago.  Mine has been acting up, but still only on and off.  If it's really bugging you, just get it checked.  Don't feel foolish for wanting to make sure everything's okay.  It probably IS just sciatica, as I'm sure you've told yourself a million times, but it's a legitimate concern.  xxoo amy

My orthopedist (hips and  knees, mostly), offered me a bone scan if I wanted one, but suggested that I try using ice and ibuprofin first. We set a deadline for a week - then she would write the script for the scan. Much more helpful than my onc.

I basically sat on an ice pack for 3 days. And took ibuprofin. And massaged area, with one of those massaging devices.

    Worked

    No bone scan, no pain.

It's MUCH MORE LIKELY to be creaky old joints than cancer.

probably it is sciatica.   I had  sciatic pain before BC and finally went on Neurontin (similar to Lyrica) and am now having to take it 2x's a day.    I know that Yoga stretching is excellent for sciatic but who has the strength?   Starting this Saturday my Yoga instructor will be coming to my house once a week for 30 minutes.  Sure hope it helps,  will let y'all know.
