DIM and Tamoxifen
Anyone premenopausal and ER+/PR+ taking both Tamoxifen and DIM?

I would have been taking both if I had been able to tolerate the Tam. So now I just take Estrogen Balance (which has DIM among other things), Myomin, Calcium-D Glucarate and other things specific to my situation. According to my ND and onc, it would have been ok and even beneficial to take both.

Bumping an old thread to see if anyone is planning to take both...
I never went into chemopause, age 35. I'm on day 5 of Tamoxifen and a complementary doctor has recommended DIM as well. I'm considering it. -
One book listed DIM as contraindicated for tamoxifen. (the book contains a table of supplements that are contraindicated with diff. cancer meds)
The Definitive Guide to Cancer, 3rd Edition: An Integrative Approach to Prevention, Treatment, and Healing (Alternative Medicine Guides).

I checked with my MO's nutritionist and she said the authors are reputable. I'd be curious to know if your doc has heard this before. (maybe it's contraindicated in certain scenarios or ... maybe they are citing studies he hasn't read or maybe they're citing old info or ?)

There is a trial here in AZ that is comparing tam+DIM vs tam+placebo on breast density and recurrence. It is funded by NIH. I would think that it would be ok to use them together. LINK to study.

I'm 37, menopausal now due to chemo, but am taking both DIM (since march) and Tamoxifen (since april).

Omaz

Chocolaterocks - Glad it was helpful! I hope they get good results.

I need to change my signature line as I'm ER-. Here's some really good info on DIM if you click the Science link on the left. I just ordered some and see the doc this week. I'll ask but I don't see any harm at all.

I am looking for women who are taking natural remedies instead of Tamoxifen due to having terrible side effects.
Also wanted to know what supplements were recommended for ER/PR+ diagnosis, I am 48 premenopausal.
Thank You
