For those of you in treatment right now, I just wanted to show you my light at the end of my treatment tunnel. I finished chemo in February and finished radiation in June. Yesterday, just 3 months later, I ran a 1/2 marathon. YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS and your body can heal! One day at a time...(((LOVE)))

    thanks heather!

feel like complete *&% today. barfed all morning, tons of bone pain & fatigue. last Chemo tomorrow (I hope it doesn't get put off!) and I am so looking forward to this milestone. I'm going to do rads too, but i'm glad to be trading SEs to something else and maybe being able to exercise through it.

     thanks for the encouragement!

Heather....no, I am not a "young woman" but I did two cycling events immediately post radiation and the Seattle-to-Portland w/i six weeks following last year.

One year later, I am fitter than ever.  So yes, our bodies do heal, and we can go on to new wonderful places.

    Congrats on the half marathon.

I am writing this having done one too many intense cycling days in a row.  Hurting every way you can imagine, but none of this BC related.  Just overexertion.

A good place to be.  BTW - you might want to check out Everyminute.  She is a runner and doing amazing things now. - Claire

    Congratulations, Claire! Awesome!!

Stephanie - I did train all the way through radiation. My run times got slower as treatment went on. At the time it was discouraging because I didnt put 2 and 2 together and realize it was the cumulative radiation that was making me slower, but I trained none the less and lost most of the weight I gained during chemo.

Radiation is SO much easier than chemo. Its lame - you have to go everyday, etc, but it feels like you are moving forward and not in a time warp anymore. YOU CAN DO THIS!! Congrats on tomorrow being your LAST chemo! A couple days of crap, then just better and better. Keep kicking!
