Anyone attacked by bug/bee swarms?

In another group, we started comparing notes and found that many of us had been attacked by a swarm of insects or bees earlier in our lives.  I was swarmed by a nest of yellow jackets as a kid.  Others were attacked by ants and other bugs. Anyone else here?

    Hi

I was attacked by cat fleas-at least I suppose they were as it was a place where kittens had been born some months before .I ended up with antibiotics. They just swarmed me.

I dread anything like that happening on my lymphedema arm.I use vodka as a repellent (applied not drunk!)

Anna, I never heard of using vodka to keep bugs away. I was also attacked by bees as a kid. It was my own fault, but sure didn't make the stings hurt any less.

I hadn't heard of vodka either!   I have a bottle of "Lympaderm" which is moisturizer with bug repellant.   I don't think it's a coincidence how many of us this happened to who later developed LE!

Inspie, I'm curious what you and the other group consider the link between bug swarms and later development of LE? What biological mechanism are you thinking of?

Anna, I love the vodka for an insect repellent.Laughing If it doesn't work you can sit down and have a good cry and a swig of it. Can't do that with Off!.

    Hugs,

Okay, this is really weird. The DAY after my lumpectomy, I got stung by a honey bee for the first time in my life. I'd been stung by wasps as a kid but not for decades. 1/3 of my hand swelled up.It is 2-1/2 weeks later and I still have hives on my 1/3 hand, although it is better.

But I am also suffering from what I don't know is either post-surgery swelling or LE of breast.

I've been eaten by mosquitoes ths summer.  My only pleasure was thinking that when they took my blood, they died from the chemo I was on : )

Sorry to hear that!  You need to get some Lymphoderm lotion, or carry a bounce sheet around in your pocket. Or some Avon Skin So Soft?
