my wife has undergone FEC--2 sessions out of 4 and she is feeling numbness in hands and feet and also has difficuly in writing . is these due to chemo side effects or is it something involving brain ? (brain mets) , we had a PET prior to surgery which showed a lump in rt breast and nodes involved which has been removed by surgery)

yes, sounds like neuropathy to me.  I was lucky and just got a bit of it on my left foot.  Have her talk to her dr about taking vitamin B6 to help protect the nerve endings.  My dr had me on that during my Taxol portion of treatment.

Yeah, sounds like neuropathy.  I got it in my fingertips and toes during Taxol.  Most of it resolved itself after chemo was over.  My onc wanted details on how it was progressing every week while I was still on the Taxol, though.

I agree that it is likely neuropathy.  I am currently on Taxol, which is notorious for causing at least temporary neuropathy.  I am taking Acetyl L-Carnitine (there is a clinical trial underway to determine if this prevents chemo-induced neuropathy), L-Glutamine and B-6.  Talk to your wife's oncologist about adding these to her army of meds.

Sure sounds like neuropathy to me too.  I got it in my feet more than my hands and it did take several months post chemo to totally go away.  But it's gone now!

sounds just like neuropathy to me.  Good luck.  I take lyrica for mine..yeah I still have it.  Thought it was better until the summer heat.  Neuropathy in the fingers can cause you problems in writing and opening things.  My DH would leave open drinks in the refrig for me when he left for work.

I had numbness like an annoying pins & needle feeling in my hands and feet that started when I was on Taxol. It came on intermmitantly and resolved when chemo ended.  I also had so much body and bone pain and complete exhaustian.
