Laser surgery for DCIS?

Hi all,

Recently, I was diagnosed with DCIS low grade.  I am waiting for the doctor appointment.

Meanwhile, I was doing a research on the treatment.  I found this web:

It mentions that the laser has lots of advantages than knife including low recurrence...

Unfortunately, I can not find lots of info about this CO2 laser surgery and this doctor info from

the web.

Did anyone has this treatment? or can you share?

    I haven't had this but if it were being proposed to me I think I'd ask what the rate of seroma was for this treatment versus conventional scalpel treatment.

    Here's another site you might check out. http://www.breastcanceriort.org. I did have this treatment.

    Yes.  If the laser were far more better than scaplel, I would find out lots of info from the web.

    unfortunately. only on that web site.

    Thank you for the link you provided.  I will ask my doctor about that.

    I haven't seen my breast surgery yet and I just got the MRI done.

    I do not know which treatment they will propose to me:  Lumpectomy or mastectomy

    Will Mstectomy have lower recurrence than lumpectomy?  or no annual check up needed?

    I don't think the amount of info correlates to the quality. Some treatments aren't as well accepted by the medical community for reasons other than the quality of the treatment.

    Talk to your doctor about rates of recurrance. The frequency of annual checkups will be the same, I believe, regardless of the treatments you get.

    I looked at some very good reviews about Dr. Ansanelli, and the only reservation I have is that apparently he is 82 years old. 

    Is this too old to operate?  I can't help thinking it may be.  ???  Any feedback?  I don't know if I'm making too much of this but 82 seems too old.
